The Pew survey doesn’t pertain to the dynamics between partners within households, just the overall average time spent on each activity by all members of each gender who are both married and employed. I simply stated that the majority of hard manual labor is done by men. Do you disagree with that statement or only the strawman statements you’ve attributed to me? There’s a broad range from that (which should hardly be considered “work” at all), to cushy WFH jobs where someone might send a couple of emails and take a few quick calls while clocking 8 hours of “work,” all the way to intense physical labor in brutal weather conditions. Women who do hard manual labor all day would similarly require more rest and relaxation than men who sit in an office. “Rest and recovery” is also not synonymous with sleep, and could partially fall under the “relaxing” category under the “leisure” section of the Pew figures, which was the subject of this comment thread.
