HR helps us out a bit with this now. They take the names off the resumes and you select for interviews based on that. The idea being you won't subconsciously dismiss a Tyrone or a Karen. Then, once you've interviewed the candidates, you come up with a scoring matrix based on the needs of the job, and you rig it so the white man wins, and you hire him.

It's true. While a lot of people being arrested will say they can't breathe, it's not necessarily a lie. A person can still get words out while being actively suffocated or choked. Also, a lot of people have panic attacks while being arrested, which can feel like a heart attack or being unable to breathe, even if they're not usually dangerous. I at least hope he called for an ambulance for her. She really ought to get a brief medical checkup before they haul her ass to jail.

Oh, you can't help someone like that. A person has every right to refuse assistance from someone if they want to. Even if they're dying, they're allowed to say no, I don't want any help. Generally, when someone offers to pay for something for me, I operate on the presumption that they're genuinely offering to pay because they want to pay. If you park illegally, and you get back to your car after the guy has hooked it up to the tow truck, you generally have to pay a fee like $100 for them to unhook you. Oh dear god no. Gold can theoretically serve a purpose in a portfolio, mostly as a hedge against inflation. Maybe up to 5% as a ceiling. But when it comes to properly managing and growing your wealth, choosing to invest predominantly in precious metals is suicide. The purpose of investment is to grow your wealth.
