It's not even necessarily the nice guy stuff that hurts, a lot of that stuff I already knew. Though not until recently have I put an effort into halting the nice guy stuff and funny enough girls respect me more in general. Though I'm still not getting laid (I think a lot of it has to do with my body size, which I'm working on) things do feel better in those terms. But. It's more so the concept of the disposable male. The concept of hypergamy. That stuff. How can I be happy knowing that my existe…

Woops, responded on my other acc. I'm a bit more than a quarter of the way through reading this stuff and I'll be honest it's extremely eye opening and rather depressing. Just these concepts of AWALT and AFC and all this stuff feels disheartening. I understand this is how things are. But when I'm reading this I keep on questioning it on to why do things have to be like this. I won't argue against it because all of it makes sense. But how do I not topple into the jaded and bitter phase? I underst…

Not sure why you're being so hostile, was just responding to what you said.

Didn't say I necessarily had a question. Was more asking for explanations for parts I am having a hard time with and for any other advice I could get. People have been pretty helpful, your comment not so much.

I meant as in thoughts I've had throughout my life. As in observing (and questioning) certain social patterns/teachings and those thoughts are being validated through reading the concepts explained on here. Never said that those thoughts made me alpha, or less beta. Simply just that this is currently my "Aha!" moment and I'm still working on being less of a failure of a man.

Ah, I thought I responded to your comment. Just wanted to say thanks since your response has been the most thorough of them all.

I'll try to remember to update, I already started reading stuff about the book and it sounds interesting. Opinions seem to be hate it or love it. And yeah, before with my diet I just said I'd eat less and very little changed. Counting calories really works wonders, but I want to completey control that.

Yeah I get it, those books sound interesting and I'll definitely give the 48 Laws of Power a read since it's been recommended multiple times to me. Does knowing what I'm cutting out of my diet count as a plan? Because I'm starting to cut bread, rice and potatoes from my diet. I'm going to continue limiting myself to 1600 calories a day, unless it's a workout day then I'll be a bit more flexible eating around 1800-2000. I also live with family so I'm going to stop eating what they make me and sta…

That is something I need to get over, my whole life I've been told make others happy. I am learning to make myself happy through myself. I never learned how to be happy with myself and just myself. I'm now learning how to do that.

I've been working on that, especially the while learning to say no thing. Confidence is key when it comes to this, which is one of the more difficult hurdles to get over as a beta bper. But I'm making good progress towards bettering myself. Like I've read on here, this stuff doesn't happen over night, it's a lifestyle and thought process change.

I thought this whole explanation was an example of how blue pill I am. I'm acknowledging the problem and I'm trying to wrap my head around this to better myself. I'm not doing a huge amount of improvement at the moment due to school, but I am doing exercise through boxing a few hours three times a week. After this week (finals) I am planning on buckling down on my diet as well as starting lifting again. Of course the biggest part of these changes has to be my attitude though. I'm not currently r…

Of course I don't fully get it, that's why I'm here. Thanks for directing me over there, I'll give it a read after my classes today.

As a beta trying to learn how to not be so bad at this stuff, what if this is so ingrained into you it just comes naturally? As an example, many people would consider what I did for my ex super overdone or try hard. But for me it was simply what I wanted to do. She wanted to go to the beach? Cool me too. She wanted to go get food? Doesn't sound too bad, I wanted to check that place out as well. I wanted to serve her, but I personally didn't feel burdened or stressed by it. Hell, even looking bac…
