Manaus is the recommendation because most city in the Amazon are quite poor, hell if you go to Manaus it's mostly about "Ponta Negra" district altho there are others that are quite good. And you can travel a lot there, lot's of places to visit and to party. The other cities in the Amazon have a max of 200k people and Manaus has 2.2 mill
