One of the core beliefs in this subreddit is that truth is not subjective. If that is true, then truth is for all; it should not be selectively divvied out.

If a man walks out on the woman (thereby creating the single mom), it appears you think we should not feed the innocent children? It is scary how inhuman you people all are.

"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it." -- Neil deGrasse Tyson You can substitute "truth" for science. Thus your (Rand's) claim is bunk.

Liberals think govt will solve all problems No they really don't. Learn of what you speak and/or stop making badly-worn-out straw-man arguments.

Such pap. A woman is a person. She can have anyone she wants as a "pal". Ayn Rand (and you) have no right to say otherwise. A woman is also under no obligation to you or anyone to be a "hero". In my experience, those who quote Ayn Rand are seeking a justification for being mean towards others and/or selfish. I see no exception in this case. EDIT: And before you dismiss me as a feminist, I'm a male who subscribes to at least some of what TRP teaches. But I do not sit idly by while someone claims …

99% of women have little use except sex. Do you guys realize it's statements like this that give this sub a bad name?

The real root of the matter is what you said at first: The guy didn't fight the case. Then you go off the rails blaming everyone but him for what happened.

Yes. I'm a feminist (a male one) and I think this guy is getting royally screwed. He desperately needs a lawyer but cannot afford one. He needs to contact some of the legal aid societies in his area.

We could just as well claim any activity you undertake for pleasure is just a "waste of time" too. I don't see how one is any more superior than another; it's all just opinion, right?

It's fine in TRP to state things as they are, but let's cut down on the blatant lies. No, not all (or even most) single mothers neglect their children. How do you think lies like this help advance TRP?

You can't just cherrypick your co-believers on the grounds that they're less presentable By that logic, all Christians should be apologizing for the KKK instead of being able to say "We're not all like that."

ITT: TRP'ers showing their true natures. Half are knocking OP for encouraging his daughter to take advantage of a Beta. The other half are saying "Kudos! You take what you can get!" The really tricky bit is these two camps give differing TRP advice. The former are actual humans, the latter make me want to shower after reading reddit.

K is a human being. He likes D. Taking advantage of him for trying to be a nice person is crappy. TRP exists because we got tired of being taken advantage of by women. It is therefore anathema to TRP to encourage our own daughters to take advantage of men. "We got shit on, so when we have the chance we'll shit on others." WTF?

You know darn well the BB guy is getting it for her as part of an attempt to win her affections. If both you and she have no intention of every rewarding his attempts, it's morally repugnant for you to accept the gifts.

If she can dupe some poor bastard into paying her way while she's got him semi-friendzoned, more power to her. Let me put this as succinctly as I can: Fuck you. One of the basics of TRP (and I admit I'm somewhat new here) is that we try to take a moral high road. Women can act like what you are advocating for your daughter and we men try to help each other avoid being taken in. But the fact is, that type of behavior is wrong. We acknowledge it, avoid women who act like that, and/or change that w…

That's not what the article says. It specifically cites 20% of men and 15% of women have affairs (by the best estimates.)

Statistically, male gay couples are more prone to either cheating or allowing an open relationship. Statistically, gay female couples have more drama, breakup, and dead bedrooms than heterosexual relationships. Do you have any evidence at all to back up these claims? Because it honestly sounds like you're talking out your butt.

Shit like this is making my faith in humanity and women dwindle fast. I honestly WANT to be loving, nurturing and actually care about girls I'm seeing/dating, but the evidence has proven time and time again that I need to be an arrogant, selfish asshole to even get a woman at all. This is why I've actually given up entirely. I pondered for years how to turn my naturally attentive, caring personality into that of an asshole to get women. I finally decided I liked myself how I am and if they don't…

This entire post feels disturbingly like a religious sermon, meant to keep us in line using shame. TRP isn't a church, dude. Feel free to disagree with me but try and keep it rational and emotional free. Like this? you feel utterly disgusted and ashamed Nope, no emotion there.

I don't know about "crazy" but it does reek of both desperation and a willingness on her part to walk as soon as she has other options. She may be addicted to sex; I've encountered those. They showed a distinct interest in me once a month when their hormones raged. It was like clockwork. The other 3 weeks of the month I hardly heard from them. But when they wanted it, they wanted it now.

This is the more likely account of what happened. I don't get the feeling OP made it all up, but I also can't buy her ticking RP factoid off, one by one either.

I hope that is true, but the trick is telling one from the other. I almost want a flowchart drawn up so I can test in the first 5 minutes with a woman what type she is so I know how to proceed. Are there any sure-fire signs/responses to be on the lookout for?

Yes. Because all single mothers do what your mom did. :: roll eyes :: I mean, I'm sorry what happened to you. But you absolutely cannot project one data point to the entire society.

I also like how the judge said they "could not do anything" about the $168K she'd already made off with. Apparently not even give him credit by suspending his monthly support payments until that amount was made up.

People: If you gain weight, you will become less attractive to the opposite sex. Period. FTFY. I know we're in here to talk about how to deal with women, but there's little need to go out of your way to be sexist. All you do is make TRP'ers look like jackasses when you do this.

she will find ways to increase her demands further and further until you're paying more than you should for something you wouldn't possibly have originally signed on for. Not always true. My sister is married and wanted a small (half dozen person) wedding. It was my brother in law who forced it to become 8x that size.

I have been in this situation a lot. Everyone else is saying this post is gold, but he lost me at the first sentence above. I have a problem taking advice from someone who got to the "let's get married" discussion "a lot". I seek advice from someone who has made a few relationships last a long time rather than a lot of relationships last a short time. Perhaps I'm not the right audience for TRP.

There's really no point to settling in this day and age. If you don't mind being alone, sure. Because no man is perfect and therefore any choice to enter a LTR is "settling".

That's contradictory. "Friendship" primarily equals Beta, given that friendships are based on mutual interests and mutual ownership of the relationship. You need to decide what you really want.

That really does seem to be the unstated message here, doesn't it? "It doesn't matter at all what a guy says. Therefore, by default, it has to be his looks."

It is short-sighted to believe that your perception of the world is 1) the same as others' and 2) always correct. You do need others' insight into how things work, as well as real data to try to piece together a working view of the subject. And don't forget, TRP has an awful lot of misogyny going on. It's often very hard to tell what's bitterness vs. what is real. Articles such as this are a refreshing unbiased look at the subject of female behavior.

I agree. Every time I read an article like this I understand why I'm single; I just don't get women and am pretty sure I never will. Nothing pleases them. And I'm so tired of always being wrong that I'd now rather be alone.

she did not properly vet him before having a child with a man that did not want to raise one So it's 100% her fault that he conceived a child with her that he had no intention of raising? How in your mind does he bear no responsibility??

While the coffee incident was obviously innocent enough and she was wrong to make an issue out of it, you are also wrong for using the word "ugly" in your post title. Her appearance has absolutely nothing to do with anything and you are making the rest of us look like assholes when you say things like that.

You seem to have missed several points. First of all, princess was costing him money. He had paying passengers waiting in his cab. Second, princess had a car; no she was not going to need his services getting to and from the venue.

You need to have heart-to-hearts with your siblings and ask why they are sticking up for someone who is trying to destroy your health instead of their own family. If they don't see that that's wrong, I would distance myself from them. They're not acting like family. You don't need anchors like that dragging you down.
