Yep it's raw a deal. It's like you got have camera on at all times if you're in that type of situation. There's always leeway. Men need to be smart about how they approach the legal system.

I hear what you're saying. But unfortunately, you're not really making a legal argument. You can't just make a blanket statement about cases in any given state. Laws simply don't work that way. In fact the application of law can be different between counties. However, if the victim is a woman with children you will have a hard time with a case no matter what. And for obvious reasons. In this case she's a single woman then it's a matter of proof. If it's word vs word, then the man will just lose …

It would depend on the laws in his state, or more importantly the judge. But better he best talk to a lawyer first, than speculate on difficulty. I hear what your'e saying though, but law is about proof. If she doesn't have proof of domestic violence, or a kid, or even abuse on here, he can def have a case.

Yes... that's my point. They use gender as an aspect of their calculation. Now they are no longer allowed to. You can't get around this when it comes to healthcare. Gender is implicitly a factor because of obvious scenarios. Even by hedging against procedures this will happen. Even to that point, gender is a less than relevant category. You're actually agreeing with me? And it's funny cause my position has always been that this post doesn't belong in Men's rights, cause it's not a rights issue. …

Ok so the actuary just uses whether someone goes to Gyn or not. Boom, gender. Yes, because only one gender goes to the gym?! I said GYN, short of Gynecologist. Irrelevant? lol, no. If I know your sex then I can make a whole load of assumptions on you straight off the bat. Actuaries make assumptions based on what they know of your lifestyle, and people like you. Even how you pay your bills, what you do, or what you buy. But it's all on data, it's not about gender at all. Gender is just one catego…

Add insulting Stating something in a matter of fact manner, isn't' insulting. But if you feel emotional, to the point of condescended upon, or insulted, that's your own problem. For what it's worth, it's not my intention. Ok? They're not allowed to base it on gender though. That's literally all I've stated. They can't ask you that question. Not allowed? Ok so the actuary just uses whether someone goes to Gyn or not. Boom, gender. The whole gender thing is irrelevant cause in healthcare it is mor…

Condescending? I'd say pretty direct..Only insecure people feel condescended on. Maybe you're telling us something about yourself. However, the thing is this .. They don't have to ask your gender. They have decades of data they can use to find your gender if they needed to, and in healthcare it's very easy to figure. My point is that there's no reason to up in arms about something that's not truly gender related.

Gender doesn't matter that's the point.. The actuaries don't only use gender anyway, there are a host of factors that make up a premium. In the case of health insurance, it has to be somewhat based on gender because the cost of procedures is what they have to hedge against. And they must use relevant criteria to help decide on premiums. If the government says no gender "discrimination" they'll just do something else to give the same result. Then they'll make literature to show that the company i…

This picture isn't about rights, it's just about actuarial science. The insurance companies just want to make sure their holding enough money for possible procedures and still make money. The difficulty of the procedure doesn't even matter. It is a cost & probability scenario. I think people have a right to be upset about it, but I'm not really sure if there is an answer.

OP, i'm sorry i don't really understand how this has happened to you, more importantly how this even matters. You shouldn't concern yourself about all these things. Then you seek help to cope with the emotional trauma of the event.

Unfortunately, if they are feminist they would know all about gender social construct since it is the lifeblood of feminism. However, if they really meant sex. I'd say first i am a woman. Then if they queried, I'd go one step further and force them to check. Then if they do you just say your'e post-op. A joke worth it to save .25. EDIT:Add Say first I'm a woman. Then if they queried. Nope i saying that women go through a moral question when ever they vote, because of abortion. Men do as well, but it's not as close to home as it is for women. The economy is actually doing well. This is actually pretty funny.. It should be more vulgar.. The next time a girl closes her legs.. Or doesn't give it up.. Women and men did it's all good.. This was clearly made to be funny and no real malicious intent.. Women have a problem in voting anyway because of the possibility of eliminating abortion rights.. This is highly political. In fact the shutdown bolsters anit-abortion rights.. Regardless, ObamaCare has more to do with the economy than any particular person's rights. It begs the question can we sustain the rate in which healthcare is growing, or the size of our current healthcare system.

Develop a WIDE Social Group A lot of people get stuck in developing a few close friendships and relying on that. They'll go out with the same 3 or 4 dudes/girls every single night to the same places all the time. Instead always be meeting and hanging out with new and different people. Be the guy that always knows whats going on (which ties in with the arts), and the one that is really competent at making acquaintances*. That way your social game net can get much wider. Exactly, men are responsible for female sexuality having any value. It blows my mind that prostitution and sexual slavery is this huge of an industry. You know it would be much easier to just pay for the sex and have no other issues. I think most men fantasize about this. The more I think about it gender separation is the problem with the ad... The ad should show men & women who were raped/molested by men in one set of pictures and then by women... This way it could bring sympathy and concern for all those that could be raped. And show that anyone can be affected by such a universal crime. Making it an even cross-section could also be good too.

I'll be more specific. Why do you think their quoting of their rapist should have been clear on what gender their rapist was? I think when dealing with men, i think would have more sympathy for men that raped by men. I think the general public believes that men only rape men in prison. Why are you not sure if you can take them seriously or not? Some of them look like they have smirks on their faces. Granted they aren't models, they should be more serious or sad. y=2x+1 will eventually intersect and pass x=50,000; where the equation y=2x+1 represents the rising monetary risk and the equation x=50,000 equals your annual pay (not including factors such as unemployment, raises, etc). The X-axis represents the number of years and the Y-axis represents the Risk (in dollars). You don't need a differential equation to describe the graph. In fact, you don't even need an exponential function to describe it. Just picture a line horizontal to the x-axis on a graph that represents you and your partners combined annual income (not taking into account promotions, dismissal, etc), then imagine another line with a positive slope to represent the annual increase of risk (where risk equals the amount of money you will pay if the relationship ends depending on the number of years…

I'm making a comparison on how both warfare and marriage can be considered traditional. Both have occurred for generations if not since the dawn of man. The fact is if you try to use tradition to justify doing something you can use tradition to justify doing just about anything that has occurred in the past. Which brings me back to an earlier point: A marriage is a calculated risk? How long do you think it will take for her to "fall in love" with a man who isn't homeless and makes more money. Is that a real question? Are we talking about love are we talking relationships. That's a loaded question. It depends on the girl. I have a simple rule for gambling. You should only do it if you KNOW your going to win. You're basically admitting to accomplishing nothing in life? You must take risks in life to win, gambling is just another word for risk.
/r/MensRights19/09/13 01:39 PM

That's untrue and fabricated. Money doesn't trump everything. Relational security is the reason someone marries. In some cases that could mean money, but it doesn't stop there. If you think a good woman is going to leave you cause you don't have money you're kidding yourself. This article is about divorce and the perils of it...It's good to know that there is a monetary gamble in marriage. The emotional aspects are for more esoteric and cannot be quantified by your wallet.

Knowing your states laws are important. Most people don't bother to learn them. Prenuptial Agreements Risking your entire financial future? It's a bit of two way street. If you all aren't helping each other succeed financially, you shouldn't be married anyway. There are a lot of different types of marriages, but if you live with someone long enough you there's common law marriage as well. Marriage is a business risk like any other. There really isn't a reason to sensationalize it.
/r/MensRights18/09/13 02:54 PM

The laws are skewed towards women for many reasons. If you're concerned about your things, get an agreement. Men should marry a person that for the foreseeable time period makes their life better. There are voluminous psychological benefits to having a committed woman. Even that outweigh the pain of divorce. A marriage should be looked at as a psychological investment and monetary gamble. That being said if you're a philanderer, don't even bother.

The questions is about whether a feminist should accept the critique on their theories. I would say they should, and women should employ feminist doctrine in order to empower women that are close to them. There are many women that would like to be feminist, but feel sexually charged when dominated. So, it kind makes their theories somewhat incongruen…

Issues like Child Protective Services and the Court system being skewed to directly benefit women at least have some validity from the cases I have seen/read. The law usually benefits the weak. Why is it necessary to change expectations of society? Why can't articles be about women changing themselves? I just really don't see what's wrong with anyone picking what they want out life, sacrificing, and going after it. How can some one be against that?

"We're talking about intimate partner violence. Not pro fighting. I'm referring to all fights, pro or not. That's just the nature of fighting. Getting hit by things that aren't seen. "Yes. Duh. Only you manage to say this and then go ahead and disagree with it. You need to check your story for basic coherence. At least you agree with me on something. :) Basic coherence..Eh.. You should point this out.. "..No asshole. I'm saying, repeatedly that, if somebody you trust wants to hurt/kill you, they…

Yea I'm tired too..Esp. when I've summarized your point and agreed with you. I begged the question, sure but this reddit. Then I asked you why you felt the need to be on your soapbox. and you didn't even answer.. Hard not to be tired.. Why can't you just take a joke or a joke just be joke? We could talk about PEA and a bunch of other relationship chemicals.. if you want.. I was just making fun of a graph.. Not disenfranchising all those with high testosterone bodies :)

I thought I spoke on balance, but maybe I didn't. First of all, hormones don't have feelings, so they can't actually be bad. But they can be funny, well as everything can be funny. :) Even if you have too much of a "bad" hormone still how you perceive the world, and act in it can be sum many different factors. Some of which have zero explanation. Secondly, there must be a story, that stops from understanding the joke, or allowing the comedy to give you a smile. It might not be funny for you, the…

It seems your crossing things here. Men have propensity to violence because of testosterone. This relates directly to how they view relationships. It doesn't presuppose anything, except violence or aggressive behavior occurs more in those beings with high levels testosterone. My comment wasn't meant to mean any more than that. But it was also joke too, poking fun at it self...bad joke ;) I agree with you there are both biological, and social factors that color the amount men that are violence to…

There's a lot chemicals that relate to relationships.. But it's not really poison cause we both need them.. It's just balancing.. For some men just have trouble. It's a law averages thing, I think, in this graph.. The ironic thing about women is that even though, and this graph, even though men maybe more likely to harm woman in an intimate relationship. Women are more likely to harm their children. Weird if you ask me..

I was trying to be funny.. But there have been studies on the subject of testosterone. It's a affect on people, and their judgments, relationships, etc.. So semi fun semi real..

It's as if you've never been at fight. You could be in fight with someone and be in front them and they hit you with a punch you haven't seen. Professional experience this. It's parting of fighting. It's just not a point that you can just throw around, because it happens in real fights, in happens pro fights, and the qualifier where trust doesn't exist. So I take what saying is a actually a surprise. IF someone surprises you. And yes if someone surprises yes it will be difficult for you to react…

They refutation is your qualification of "little"... You don't qualify why someone can't do anything about it? You just assume little Is ok qualifier. That's an over simplification of a reality. There 's no way define little.. So I disagreed, it's simply too ambiguous. To say someone is helpless in a given situation, is just too far reaching, I just can't agree... But I will say, and to your credit, someone you trust can get near you. But that doesn't stop you from defending yourself. That might…

So I can more down votes. How would you all define strength in a purely masculine context?
/r/MensRights04/09/13 07:51 PM

True.. Women skin tends to be easier to bruise.. So their evidence has more emotional weight to it.. If you see a woman with a bruise around her waste and she calls rape. As a guy you're already starting at a negative. On the flipside, a girl slide your penis and get off never have one single bruise. Hell if you're drunk enough, or sleep hard enough she could might be able to slip on a condom. Fat chance of calling rape then.. Yea women are awesome except when they're not.. haha

It's sad part of life.. So ostensibly men have the same rights as women. In practice, they don't have the same rights because people always consider evidence suspect. For example, a woman getting on your cock while inebriated. What will you tell the police? I was drunk, and passed. I woke with a woman on top of me. I pushed off when I came too, I was raped. I'm sure there cases like this all of the nation. And if you caught a disease, or she was pregnant it would big deal. How do you prove that …

I thought I addressed this directly.. "If somebody you trust wants to harm/kill you, there's little you can do about it." I'm simply don't' agree with you..You have a choice. "...Sure she can't come straight at you but she doesn't have to. She can just drug you or knock you over the head from behind." Yes anyone could.. But Clearly someone that you trust has more access to you. "...no matter how big and strong your are, you're never safe. Often they just hire or manipulate somebody else to do it…

I'm not sure what you're referring too.. I'm going to take stab. The idea that a man should be eternally strong is what this double standard is about.. But the thing is men have to also be strong emotionally, so much so they can be vulnerable and still not wilt. In this case, just because his gf assailed him , doesn't mean he's not a man. He's also a man, or it's also masculine, if he can admit that she bested him, and not lament but move on. Which from he story he didn't' do. And to me that's m…

I don't have extensive training I just know handle people with sharp objects.. training that I'm not proud of.. but I've been there .. that's the point

Of course.. You always have a choice , but of course there are exceptions. If you look at post there's another part of being man that we rarely talk about.. That's the part of being vulnerable, understand your vulnerability and fall on your sword. No reason to lament the loss, you take in stride and you move on. That's what being a man, in totality is all about.

I've been a situation. and No that would happen. I've been stabbed. If she has weapon she is attacking him. Barring deadly force he'd be fine.

Seriously this would be a tough for me.. I can't see my self let my gf do that, unless she was some sort of trained martial artist and I wasn't. But I've had my fair share of battling with sharp objects, and fights.. idk.. You have to think, if you can't protect yourself from your gf how are you going to protect her from the world? Unfortunately, that's what's expected of being a man being a man is about, even though some times it's difficult or impossible. I think it's silly to eschew the stand…

Funny I had the same question. I don't know point of this thread is.. But I will say... Men have less rape protections, but ostensibly the law protects both genders. Men are expected to repel women rapers, they are seen as stronger than women in most cases. So there are less reported make rape cars. The problem is most people won't believe men, unless there is evidence of forced sexual contact. Even in rape cases of women, the evidence can be sketchy but allowable. For men, it is a bit hard to c…

You guys must hard on every day.. And some girl lurking in the shadows around you to take advantage of you .. I am not sure what we're arguing about. It's still rape. It's just an unlikely occurrence.
/r/MensRights04/09/13 10:47 AM

First of all if you're passed how do you know the girl actively trying to get you off and then riding you? Which I said before is rape, it's plausible that a lady would do that. If chick rides your dick and you don't want it's rape.. Men don't have same rights in terms of rape cause of social stigma.. I still think that happenstance situation. You have be inebriated and your dick gets hard, and she has to see it and take it. It's a lot but still rape.

But someone said morning wood.. or random boner..That to me that's an implausible occurrence.. A girl grabbing your penis and sucking it could happen to anyone. That is rape. IMO that's a plausible occurrence that guys deal with, but don't say anything cause you'd be consider "queer".
/r/MensRights04/09/13 04:31 AM

Then explain a plausible a situation.. Where a woman that you do not want sleep with is going catch your morning wood? Or random erection and then rape you?

So you have an easy time to imagine a random girl catching with an erection that was "magically" induced.. and then raping you? You're bullshiting me if you think so..She had know it's going happen and then take advantage of it.. It's kind little bit hard to put together.. That's a lot people would call that happenstance.. It's ok, unfortunately, for women lose control and sleep with someone.. but not men.. It doesn't change that happenstance is technically rape.. If a girl is in front doing som…

I think problem with rape is 2 fold.. For men we're supposed to want to sex from every lady.. So your GF rapes you, it's more or less consensual sex... But if your roommate, or friend pops on could be another problem. But they would have to catch you before you get up, or in the night.. It's a bit hard to predict. I think most people could consider that happenstance.. Unless the girl had some disease or got pregnant from it.. Hard to premeditate something like that. But fundamentally it's rape i…

There is a possibility of hiding the affair. Though I am not sure that he would have the tact and responsibility to keep the event a total secret. I am sure the teacher could, but could she do so for 2 more years of his high school career. If no legal troubles, the biggest problem with this is that he's entering into a relationship that must end. Well, it must end if he expects, or wants to have a "normal" life. If the relationship is fiery, passionate, and loving, it could be a heart renching e…

I see.. A woman wanting feel young isn't really deserved of a year of jail.. Especially if he reciprocated.. The benefit of her going to jail is an example for men preying on woman. A man should expect an equal or worst punishment. Men preying on women can be more damaging, regardless of our society, young women fall hard in general.. Obviously, being in school kind of muddies the waters a bit.. He's got to be scarred to some degree, as I imagine this is one his first serious sexual encounters. …

There isn't a such thing as an unrealistic standard. If the symbol is unrealistic then it is not a standard. He man and Barbie have roles in pop culture as ideals. It is an ideal for women to be outwardly beautiful like Barbie or even Aphrodite. However, in practice it's equally important for women outwardly beautiful as well as inwardly beautiful. What is this idea of beauty? Women live it every day. The same goes for men. And in He-man's case he's a symbol of supreme masculinity. Men should bo…

This picture depicts some superficial relationships... There are few problems with this setup. First of all when is this picture taken? Beginning, end, or marriage? Secondly, plenty of women date guys less attractive then them for numerous reasons. Even if they may initially say any number permutations of these captions. Thirdly, if your relationship is based on the way looks versus happiness, or harmony, is it with keeping or for that matter worth discussing?
