For a subset of rape for which only men are surveyed (being forced to penetrate), women are more likely to be perpetrators. What started this for me was a repost from /r/tinman (I don't know that subreddit) that called into question a survey that claimed an astronomical amount of men committed rape. It really does seem sometimes like this subreddit while focused on men's issues often acts "as if only men's oppression exists". I think that's what bothers me. There are legitimate disparities we need to address but it's a "victim mentality" (as I've been accused of here) where only men can be victims. -4	Is this another echo chamber? I agree these definition are problematic. The CDC study I linked shows "forced penetration" (i.e. a person forces a man to penetrate them) as a type of rape. However, to be honest all the hand wringing and excuses around men who commit rape is really off putting. Also, there's lots of evidence that there are sentencing disparities. In regards to your sexual violence article, the sources linked from the CDC as sources in that article are not active so I don't know where those numbers come from. I posted some links below but my "vague post" was in response to someone disagreeing with the statement that the vast majority of perpetrators of rape are men (I saw various percentages hovering around 90% from multiple sources). The person did edit their post and link an opinion piece that cited a study showing that of rapes with male victims, 35% are perpetrated by females and 65% by males. The CDC study (United States specific) uses representative random sampling and self-reports and still shows a major discrepancy in who commits the majority of sexual assaults and rape. Do you have a source that shows greater parity in who commits rape? (Again this is not to deny that women are never perpetrators or that men aren't victims). I asked for a source in another thread and the source the person linked said 35% percent of the rapes committed against men are committed by men. Here is a quote from the article you linked "35 percent of male victims who experienced rape or sexual assault re- ported at least one female perpetrator." Since the study did not include nonbinary individuals that means 65% of the perpetrators of male rape were male. There are things people say in this subreddit that raise my blood pressure that I try to just sit with and consider. The rate of sexual assault assault against women is double that for men over a lifetime (although the rate of assault for teen girls and boys is closer). Sexual assault perpetrators for both male and female victims are over 90% male based on many sources (numbers I found ranged from 91% of perpetrators up to 99%). I'm in this subreddit because I get exposed to a lot of anti-male social media and need other perspectives but a lot of what's here often comes across as the same stuff just anti-female. Beige Farmer in the video describes desirable heterosexual men as men with skills, an interest in learning (e.g. reading books) , and men who view their girlfriends or wives as partners.
