I usually look up and then away because I once read that looking down could make you seem insecure and in turn unattractive. Although I do sometimes look down to check them out of I know they're watching, then make eye contact again, whichever builds loads of sexual tension.

Congrats on your first approach, but this is just the beginning. Now that you did it once it'll be easy to just keep doing it. I suggest you keep the texting to a minimum, get her to meet up with you in person as soon as possible. This way you won't become just a texting buddy and she won't forget you and your interaction with her, which will happen if you wait too long and then getting her to meet you won't be as easy.

Thanks for all the great advice! I honestly didn't care if she thought my shorts were cool, I just wanted an opener, but I can see how the opener could be counter intuitive when trying to create attraction. You're definitely right about her being anti-social, but I found it cute so I'll give her a chance anyway.
