As a woman who has armpit hair I hate this so much (social media armpit activism) because it highlights the fact that it’s a ‘statement’ instead of just normalizing it. I hate that people think it’s a statement when I do it - it literally grows there. I agree with all of the sentiments behind making that statement, but at the same time it shouldn’t even be a damn thing

To me it sounds like mom was carrying all of it — sounds rough for her.

This all sounded relatively nice until the “my mom was a mail order bride”

This is the most accurate thing I have ever read. The downvotes aren’t making sense.

Vetting doesn’t happen in an hour at a bar — whatever point you are trying to make is nonsense

Even this assumption is so much more reasonable. I don’t know if it’s accurate in this case (6 times in 6 months is quite a bit, but maybe you just put yourself out there [in a non threatening way] a ton, no shame to that). But the idea that yes, it’s girl time and we’re not there to flirt, is a much better and more realistic understanding than “FAT FRIEND JEALOUS OF MALE ATTENTION!!” lmao, like what ..?

And then the friend will go talk to the guy again and maybe get their number. If it’s wanted they’ll respond accordingly. If they don’t reach back out after an intervention then it’s safe to assume they didn’t want flirting in the first place and/or weren’t interested in the man talking to them.

Some men are safe. but many, especially those out at bars hitting on drunk women, are generally not expected to be “safe” or predictable. Our fears are backed up by evidence and experience. We have experienced many dangers through horny men trying to find us at bars.

It’s so funny that all of these comments are being downvoted. Do they think we are lying?

no, sometimes it’s not purely a want, unplanned pregnancies happen very often

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
