Tbf they shouldn't refuse to cut her hair because she's a woman. If she knows what she's gonna get is a basic, short haircut and she's fine with that, then her gender shouldn't be an issue.

I didn't get the impression that her intention was to deceive. Maybe it was, and if it was, she's an asshole too. She just said what she thought she saw. She didn't seem to be refuting what the officers or the guy filming said happened, just that she didn't see what they did. Without seeing her reaction to the footage, we can't really reach a conclusion on her character. Maybe she is a lying dickhead, maybe she isn't. All I'm saying is from what we see here, we can't be sure.

What's your problem? This is a sub for having a laugh at idiots and assholes pulling the woman card to get out of a deserved comeuppance, not for hating on women. The woman who came across the incident didn't see the whole thing, and she said exactly that. She intervened because she thought she saw the drunk idiot getting beat on by a cop. She wasn't implying that the cop was indeed beating on her. She was explaining that that's what she thought she saw, and that's why she went over. If you seri…

This is now the biggest in a long line of posts on here I've looked at and been unable to see a connection to men's rights. Yes, their reaction was pretty dumb, but why are we talking about it here? As I understood it, this wasn't an anti woman sub, but it seems like every other post recently is a dig at what amounts to some women doing something dumb. A group of women being petty and overreacting to something is not a men's rights issue. I'm out.

Why not just take initiative, get some friends together and invest in starting up a women only barbers in town? Problem solved, plus you now have a gainful business.

So she's tackling her frustration by putting herself in a position where she's now wide open to a lawsuit from him, and if he presses charges she will likely end up having to pay him damages regardless of whether he's found guilty? ...smart...

Damn, I already hit my quota for the year. I made eye contact with a woman the other day and that used up my last 20 rape points. Let's hope I don't need to shake hands with a woman the rest of he year. That's a solid 50 points right there!

They're most sexist against women too! No woman I know would appreciate being told she's all oppressed and feeble and in need of a "movement" to protect her. That's just insulting.

Seems a bit unfair on her. She clearly cared about him a great deal. His long work hours and declining health were obviously putting a strain on the relationship and the argument started over concerns for his health. She couldn't have known what was going to happen. Seems like a tragedy for all involved. I wouldn't put blame on either of them. Edit: his health, not hers

Well you said male behaviour dominates spaces and intimidates women. Do you think that's their intent? Whose fault is it if men just being men intimidates women (in your opinion, you seem to have a pretty low opinion of women)? What's your proposed solution? Stop being men? Don't behave like men? Separate men and women? You're making out like women are some feeble, soppy bunch of cowards who live constantly in a state of intimidation at the men around them. What women are you talking about? Thankfully my mum and sister aren't exactly hardcore feminists, they just lean that way, my sister moreso. My mum is generally pretty balanced and doesn't like the supremacist sides of feminism. She's more of a traditional feminist who's more interested in actual equality. My sister is more militant, but it doesn't come between us much, we just don't discuss that stuff with each other.

It's a documentary, yeah. It's pretty good, very informative, avoids bias wherever possible. The best thing about it was that it didn't throw accusations at people who are against the MRM, it just presented men's issues to them and let them hang themselves with their own rope. It was interesting to see how the director's opinions changed when she was faced with the reality of how many men live and the pressures on them, and when she started really listening to what redfems were saying in regard …

Is this in the UK? Because we don't have girl scouts here. We have the girl guides, which is basically the same thing but with less of a focus on survival training and more of a focus on community activities and charity work. I can see a girl in the UK who is more interested in survival training wanting to join the boy scouts. What's the difference between boy and girl scout in the US? Edit: apparently the UK scouts is integrated now. Not sure when that happened.

The story is a little unclear. She says she quit the first job after three hours. That's fine, she can quit if she wants to. But at the place they went to next, what exactly happened? She says her boyfriend was offered $22 an hour to do a job she earned $40 for on six hours. If that's the case, that's bullshit, if she did six hours work she should get six hours wages. Same here in England. "The boys" is pretty much interchangeable with "the men/guys" in an informal context. The police are "the boys in blue" for example. "Lads" is also commonly used to refer to men.

I absolutely agree, it seems like everything is so polarized in politics, and the left and right wing have a horrible habit lately of responding to people who show a hint of agreement with a politician of the other persuasion with straw-manning and shaming. Been to that bar several times. They have CCTV out the arse as it's a bar right next to a major convention centre and gets thousands of visitors over the weekend if there's a convention on. Whomever wrote the article apparently confused London with THE ENTIRE WORLD, since a brief Google search will provide numerous reports putting the figure in the UK at its highest in the entire UK, not just London, in 2010 at 110, with 55-60% of victims being male. The global figure for that year is closer to 1500, with an 80% rate of female victims. They've basically, for some reason, taken the count for the entire world, then taken the rate of male victims for just the UK, but decided to downpl…

Really?? In the UK students take one course and one course only. Unless I'm confusing what college is in the UK and what it is in the US, I do that a lot. Fill me in again. In the UK, it goes primary school -> secondary school -> college -> university. You generally start college at about 16 or 17 here, then university usually starts at about 18 or 19. Mandatory education ends at secondary school, but most people go to college as a matter of course because it's free. You don't pay for education …

Well, I mean it's technically correct, it does tend to be the case that women win custody, and it's technically correct that children limit one's opportunity to form new romantic relationships. The plain facts have just been run through one hell of a filter of bias and mental gymnastics. It's very telling about the author that they see children as pretty much unwanted baggage that prevents a person forming new relationships, rather than, y'know, family members.

OK, now you're making more sense, but it's still important to consider whether consent was given under duress. It's kind of a grey area. Generally, if you have to talk someone into sex, you're treading on thin ice, as they can easily claim you put them under pressure to agree, and they would have a valid argument. Whether it is or is not legally rape, I can't be sure. The safest course of action for all involved is to take a person's first answer. If they initially say no, then later change thei…

Well, you say that, but one of us just made one hell of a stretch to try to justify a rape. Which one of us was it? I'll let you figure that out. But I'll give you a little hint: It was the person who said: "From the story it seems like she wouldn't let off and he was very reluctant and eventually just fucked her to to get it over and done with and have some peace. What did the dean of the school say when you reported it? The best course of action if you are being denied time with the lecturer based on your gender or any other similar factor is to put in a request for your tuition fees to be returned because the university is in breach of the trade descriptions act. That's if you're in the UK, I don't know whether other countries have equivalent laws. The transaction between the university and you is that the university will provide tuition in return for y…

So you're saying that women are utterly incapable when they're drunk, but men aren't? That's pretty demeaning to women. Exactly how big of an idiot are you? I'm going to need to check before I get into this with you, because what I'm seeing right now is someone advocating separate laws for men and women. So if I approached a drunk woman and groped her, then she relented and had sex with me, that's rape, but if a woman did it to me, I just did it to get her out of my face? If you're not a troll, …

I would agree, but in this case, he clearly refused consent, drunk or not. If he got drunk and then consented because he was drunk, that would be different, his drunken state was of his own doing. But he said no multiple times. In that case, sobriety is not an issue. He refused consent and only relented under duress.

I seriously can't condone that. Outing people publically on social media is a dangerous thing to do, and could lead to a lot more harm than good. If he does this, he leaves himself open to libel charges if she kicks up a stink. It's tempting to do this, but it's really not a good idea. The court of public opinion is not the legal arbiter for a reason.
/r/MensRights11/03/17 10:11 PM

He should absolutely call the police. It doesn't matter whether or not a person was drunk, if they didn't consent to what took place, or consented under duress, then what took place was a rape. I don't imagine the police would just ignore the allegation, they would be duty-bound to investigate or at least ask questions. He should kick up a stink about about it if action isn't taken. I would start by filing for a restraining order against her. When the question is asked why he's filing for a rest…

It's absolutely not legal. You cannot discriminate between students based on gender, ethnicity, nor anything else for that matter. The only thing you CAN discriminate based on, in terms of the time you devote to helping each student, is attendance levels where there are not mitigating factors. This was one of the first things covered when I started as a lecturer, because it's a legal issue and the university risks being sued if a student thinks you're discriminating against them.

To be honest we don't have fraternities or sororities at universities here in the UK so I don't fully understand what they are. It's pretty much a social club, right? If you're running a club, it's your club, you can exclude however you want as far as I'm concerned. If your club excludes some people, they're free to start their own club and exclude you. Hold up a sec. The new finding isn't that he didn't assault her, it's that he didn't assault her first. If you look into the case, the point of contention is that she has now come forward and stated that the injuries that were used as evidence to convict him were in fact caused by her stepfather. Whether there was a sexual interaction between the officer and the girl is still not in question, and she was at an age where any sexual interaction was still illegal. What is in question is whether or …

This is the conclusion I've reached regarding the far left. Who could realistically be against equality of the races/genders etc? The thing is, in a lot of cases, that's not what you get. You get a whole heap of attention and resources thrown at the "disadvantaged" demographic, and the "privileged" demographic are just left out in the cold. I'm for equality 100%, but that is not equality. In my eyes, equality is there not being such a concept as "men's issues" or "women's issues", "white issues"…

You're not wrong. I hear you completely on the Trump vs Clinton thing. I don't like Trump at all, but would I have voted for Clinton? Most likely no, for the reasons you gave. My membership of Labour goes back to when Corbyn got the leadership, and there was me thinking "hey, this guy has some great ideas! I could really get behind him! I wonder why people consider him a joke?" I pretty much get why now.

Maybe, I just don't know. As it currently stands, though, I don't think it's ever justified to kill people when it isn't absolutely necessary. That's just me, though. People don't have to agree with me.
/r/MensRights30/12/16 01:32 PM

Well, yes, but I'm not fond of the idea of wantonly killing people as justice. When we're living in some post apocalyptic nightmare world, I'll reconsider. Until then, I'd rather avoid it.

I'm not denying it's funny at points, I personally think anything should be fair game for humour, but the point I take issue with is this is Cracked we're talking about. They have a track record of being ultra SJW, and they would never post a list like that about a woman. I'm pointing out their hypocrisy moreso than the quality of the list.
/r/MensRights30/12/16 09:13 AM

I wouldn't bring it up in front of the kids, this isn't stuff kids should be worrying themselves over imh. All you can really do is give a review of the movie and mention this and don't watch it again.
/r/MensRights29/12/16 03:18 PM

I'm not offended, it's actually kind of funny. The point is, how often do we hear things like "her body her choice" and "you can't even joke about this stuff" from the SJW crowd, yet they see no problem joking about it when a man is the subject.

This is one of those things that sounds like bullshit, but it's really not. Both genders have different causes for heart disease that the other gender tends not to get. How this relates to Carrie Fisher, though, I'm not sure, as I suspect a lifetime of drug taking is what took the toll on her heart, but then I'm not a doctor so I really don't know.
/r/MensRights28/12/16 09:52 AM

I think many do, especially in the west. It just never comes up in debate because there are so many people making sure it doesn't come up. In my experience, most women know they have a pretty good deal in many areas. Hence why there are so few women who identify as feminists.

It's allowed for women's hair colouring too. It's just not used. The issue is the manufacturers of the men's hair colourings that are using it, not the law. Also, men's and women's hair colourings are literally the exact same product in different packaging in 95% of cases.

I'm generally with you on this one. Ultimately, an abortion is a medical procedure, and medical procedures need to be by consent of the person having it done. The whole idea behind running it the way we do is so that it's up to the students to regulate who they do and do not want to have speak in there. There's no point arguing with her. In her mind, she's the only conceivable victim here and will always be right because she's a woman and naturally all men are out to get her. Sometimes you have to just step back, ignore someone, and let them hang themselves with their own figurative rope. She's publicly making a complete idiot of herself, I'd say she's tying that figurative knot pretty well all by herself right now. Just grab some popcorn and watch the fireworks.

Unless her skull is as thinner than gnat's wang, or the woman doing the slapping had the forearm muscles of a seasoned MMA fighter on steroids, you're not going to get KO'd by a moderate slap. The arm behind it prevents the fist from being pushed back by the head, and absorbs the force resisting it. An open hand will just pivot at the wrist, and a lot of the force …

The amount is also capped at 12% of your income for one child, or 16% for two or more. That being said, ch…

I'll put it down to being in a foul mood at the time. I stand by my overall politics and opinions on how the country should be run, but I descended into hyperbole and generalization pretty hard here. You're right, it's a poor way to argue a point. Calm discussion is constructive discussion. Don't debate angr…

To be fair, if it happened as described, she was well within her rights to defend herself how she did.

The irony! The rich don't think about the poor the way you think about the rich. Nor do the government. They aren't like you. A portion of the rich and the Tory government aren't angry at the poor, you're right there. They just plain old don't give a shit about them save for a few people. The Tory policy when it comes to the poor is, and has always been, that they don't matter, don't deserve help and should only be engaged with when they're costing too much money. Then it's all hands on deck to …

The world doesn't owe anyone a job. Jobs have to be earned through working hard in academia and competing against others to show you're the best person for the job. Did you actually read my post? I said explicitly that nobody thinks the world owes them a job. Or did you just willfully ignore that? Healthcare is expensive. A safety net is fine but no one is owed healthcare either. The NHS doesn't pay for all treatments. Didn't say that either. Houses are expensive too. No one owes you a house. Jo…

Yes, but it's irrelevant unless Labour caused women to be violent, which they didn't. No government can do that unless they actively encouraged it, which no government does. It's about as relevant as saying that it doubled during the reign of Elizabeth II or it doubled during the lifetime of Sean Connery. Both are true, but unless the queen or Sean Connery actually caused it to double, bringing it up is a feeble attempt to shoehorn in a political element to a story that has nothing to do with po…

How do you reach that conclusion? Did Labour put out a press release saying that women could now be violent and get away with it? As for "entitlement culture", that may be one of the worst means of sowing social division the right has ever employed, and boy do they love to employ it, because it essentially absolves them of any responsibility for their failings in their eyes, as well as in the eyes of a depressing number of people. Struggling to find a job? Entitlement culture, the world doesn't …

Stopped reading after they stated that violent offenses by women were up yet again "after having doubled under Labour". Yes, Labour made women violent... Then I looked at which paper this was. I was no longer surprised.

She can't "escape"? What's she "escaping" from? The way to end the situation is to just say no. It's a simple word the lord gave us for when we don't want any cake!

Especially since being in a public place with people everywhere is objectively one of the safest places to nap in terms of being attacked. You're likely to be robbed, but who's going to attack someone right in the middle of a busy area? Criminals generally don't want to be seen committing a crime.

Why would I care who you're subscribed to? It's none of my business. "Is it OK?" - Are you asking my/our permission? I would counter that question with; why do you feel like you need people's permission to subscribe to subReddits? You can subscribe to /r/SmearingPeanutButterOnMyselfAndRunningThroughTheWoods if you want, few would notice, and even fewer would care, so long as you post your thoughts on different topics in the applicable sub.

I'm actually very left leaning in my political views, I'm a Corbyn supporter, lifelong Labour voter, so when I started reading the papers, the Guardian seemed like an obvious choice to include in my reading materials as they claim to be basically the voice of the left wing. I read it for about a year before I couldn't bring myself to do it any more. There are far better left wing papers out there. Ones that don't seem to pad every issue with radfem non-stories and assorted articles by self-loath…

Or that. Or you could get ultra-maliciously-technical and take the offer at its word of women get "everything" at $0.78 "on the $1". Well, does that mean that you only pay $0.78 per $1 on your bill? Or that anything that costs $1 will only be charged at $0.78? You know what costs $1? A dollar. Go in with a $50 bill and ask them to break it for smaller notes. If they do it for you, demand your extra $14. The sign said "everything". Hell, if you were a wealthy woman, you could even buy the restaur…

Oh, in that case, just get together like 10 male friends and 1 female friend with a healthy bank balance and head in for a meal. When the bill comes, inform them that your female friend is paying for everyone, and so they need to knock 22% off the bill. Then all just pay your female friend back once you get outside. Sweet victory.

Well to be honest, with that kind of "promotion", they can guarantee that no guys will eat there on that day, so that's half their customers gone for the day, plus a number of guys who will stop eating there altogether over this dumbassery. So congratulations, restaurant owners, you played yourself.
