In this case you have to consider why he got the charge. it was unlikely because he open handed the girl after getting hit. That part is easily defensible in court as self defense, especially because his back was turned when she starts hitting him. I would bet that he got charged because he beat the fuck out of that guy that tries to intervene.

I didn't say only go there and take reddit to court to defend yourself.... and some of them are lawyers. Its a good starting point is all I'm getting at. To be fair though, this thread was pretty much the same advice they give out over there. "Go see x advocacy group" "stop talking about it openly" etc.

Okay, I can understand how that could be possible. Saying we shouldn't do something on TV because of its public nature doesn't necessarily mean that if we are doing it in private it is hypocritical. I don't see how she isn't being hypocritical of character. Regardless of the setting, if you say one thing (or make a statement publicly standing for something) and do the opposite it is hypocrisy. It's still hypocritical of her to say hey, we shouldn't say these types of things, and then say that type of thing in a different setting.

no no, I commend that. I didn't mean to come across like I wasn't happy to see the realization and effort. I just wanted to post this because she had originally bought into a stereotype about men and seems to be trying to post a guide to a large portion of people about that stereotype. 40,000$ seems like total bullshit considering he raised children for 17 and 14 years that he thought were his. it says he paid 25k in child support and it is painfully obvious that someone would spend more than the difference (15k) to raise someone to age 17 and another to age 14. it should be about 250k at that minimum depending on his finances, i.e. how much he contributed to the household for the children's well being during that time period.
