I would characterize it more as X steps in the right direction and Y in the wrong direction, with Y < X. The only "birth control" that could reasonably be argued to be worth insuring against is abortion, or any surgical procedure that might be necessary but unpredictable. Any expense that you know you're going to be paying for is BY DEFINITION not something you should be insured against.

I don't see statistics in the linked post. The correct statistics do not show equal pay, they show a significantly smaller gap than claimed. Very few studies have produced outcomes that suggest actually equal pay, and very few studies are immune to criticism. The fact that their statistics are incorrect does not mean that the contrary conclusion is correct.

A point of accuracy: The CDC survey data does not differentiate between a person who was raped once prior to the survey and a person who was raped multiple times prior to the survey, as I recall. Beyond that, I don't believe they ever mention what happens if a responder was raped multiple times in terms of "sex of offender" questions - what gets reported it a person was raped twice, once by a woman and once by a man?

I would not refer to anyone who's gone past undergraduate degrees as an "X'th year student". Seventh year implies (to me) that he's spent 7 years at undergrad, which is a bit ridiculous even if you were doing 3 majors.
