The premise behind my argument is, if they cannot pay off the loan in cash, then they can choose to instead work in a quarry splitting rocks for a specific number of days relative to the loan (say 1 day per 1k). If we extend K-12 to K-16 then yes, student loans should be forgiven. I'm British, no idea what K-12 or K-16 is. We call it canceling when the government pays it off...nobody thinks it just disappears... That's interesting, so basically rather than the person who took out the loan (and benefitted from it) paying back, they are asking tax payers like you and I to pay it off for them instead.
