What I really found useful is, try with the thinnest needle you can find (30G), even if it's too thin to inject. Just to get used to pinning yourself. It's just a myth. Especially only with testosterone and especially only if you stick to the natural limit levels. Testosterone replacement therapy is the best thing there is for men.
