Yeah, that sounds like good advice. When I asked to see her abs she eagerly pulled up her shirt, which was tucked into her pants. It was basically on for a long time and I never took it to the next level. I could have pulled her right out of the bar and gone for it. Lesson learned for sure. And sure, any other tips or analysis?

Thinking about it, here are some other things I could have down to change the path. When I realized how well we were hitting it off, I could have started seeding ideas of us going off somewhere more private. When everyone else went to the club, we could have gone straight to a love hotel. Cons: My friend is the jealous type and this would have seemed like a betrayal to him in a way I could have said I was tired and that I was going to grab some coffee. This would show I wasn't pedestalizing her …

Thanks man, I agree. I've lost a few now by freezing up at the end. I think I take the "don't be needy" a bit too far. If the set is already burning around me, making an ass of myself isn't such a bad thing. That being said, I'm going to wait and see if I can possibly reignite the set over facebook. If I had acknowledged defeat and shown shame/resentment, this wouldn't be an option at all.

I understand where you're coming from, but I disagree when you say "If you believe you have insufficient social skills, this subreddit is not for you." Social skills are more diffuse than the examples you bring up, where one thing directly leads to being able to do the next in a linear progression.
