It's dumb, insofar as incels have an actual "ideology," but yes I do think it should be recognized that these unfortunate men should be pitied rather than merely attacked. Sorta like fat chicks. Moreover Americans are subject to mass surveillance, which has a chilling effect on free speech. I've already said that the US has a better record than most countries on free speech. As long as your speech doesn't actively infringe on the rights of others (such as yelling fire in a crowded theater, or giving out your home address to an angry mob) then you can say anything you want in the US.
