I want to know what the list of things that offended her was, and what you actually said.

lolwut? You act as if guys are lining up to take care of other people's kids. Ask women with kids and they'll tell you that they have a hard time dating or finding guys because of their kid/s. Just chill dude, it's not like war, where guys are expected to go. Focus your misplaced efforts somewhere else.

Okie dokie but that's not what I meant. I'm just saying I admire guys who can look at a woman with a kid and not be completely freaked out. If it turns out the woman is trying to get the guy to father his child through deceit, well that's a whole other story, but even then it doesn't reflect on the guy, which is what talking about.

Meh, don't be so cynical. My cousin had 2 kids with a piece of shit deadbeat, and she met her now husband who assumed responsibility and then went on to have 2 more kids. He is an incredible father and husband. I also have a very good friend who is currently dating a woman with a child. My point is, there's no problem with testing those waters, in fact I have a lot of respect for guys who can accept that responsibility. Just don't let what happened to that guy, and what has already happened to y…

How can you compare losing someone to you yourself dying? At least when a loved one dies, you can get over it and eventually lead a normal life.

I have been, but I'm talking about what kind of content we as a collective want on the front page and I'm just trying to see other people's suggestions. That's what upvoting and downvoting does. Just because you think that certain types or posts are bad for the subreddit, doesn't mean everyone thinks that, nor does it mean that you should speak on everyone's behalf. If that were the case it would've been downvoted and never seen.

Maybe so, but it sparked a discussion and that's a good thing.

I think too many people have this superhero Joe attitude where they think they can pull out their gun, shoot the bad guy, and save the day. Truth is, your average person isn't going to react fast enough. I mean in the theater incident, the guy threw gas canisters and then started shooting, all within a matter of seconds. No one in that theater can say they could've taken the guy out. One, because they were in a place that most people feel safe in, and two: because most people have never felt tea…

That is just awesome. What strikes me is that they were able to think fast and think of something so clever.

In an airport maybe not, but what about when you're at a park, where the deciding factor is going to be the accuser, and to be completely honest, I do not want to go through any of the possible situations that could be caused by such a thing. I do not want to spend an hour getting interrogated, or at the worst, spend years of my life worrying about court hearings, loss of job, just because an array of dumbass people think I am a pedophile. I hate the fact that I could be in a position where I ha…

You don't seem to understand the possible repercussions from this. This is the type of thing where, if you lack proof from a camera or another person, then you're fucked. That career you've been working for you're entire life, gone. Oh that girl you though loved you, gone. All that can be taken away with a few breaths from someone who calls you a child molester.

I think its a great thing to have in certain situations. For instance if you're applying to a college, I think affirmative action is good since you pay for it, and its good for society overall to get better educated. On the other hand, when it comes to private companies and businesses, I would prefer the person I hired to do the job is there because they were the best rather than because of the way they look.

That makes sense, the age thing. I don't want to ask how much you make, so I guess I'll re-word it. Do you think the reason is the pay does not match the amount of, dangerous, work? What do you guys try to do to combat this? (the whole getting older thing) As in, how do you approach recruiting? Do you offer more money? (I don't mean to pry, I'm genuinely interested now, especially since my city has the largest volunteer fire department in the U.S.)

It takes a minimum of 3 trained and experienced FFer's to make entry, (rookies are not allowed), and 4 is prefered. So if one is hurt, there will always be 2 people there who are hopefully uninjured. And in case things do go bad, we issue a radio to each entry team member with a panic button on it. You had better use that button if a team member does get hurt. We also will have a RIT, (Rapid Intervention Team), team ready and waiting. Their single purpose is to stand by and be instantly ready to…

Drive and desire will only get you so far. At some point, your desire to do something is limited by your physical abilities. Let me give you an example. Let's say you have a football player who works their ass off every day in the weightroom, and runs 30 miles a day, but he's only 5'7" and 175lbs. He can lift and run all he wants, but he's still at the mercy of his physical limitations. This applies to everyone. I mean, say you're responding to a fire, and have to go in. While inside, a part of …

It annoys me to think people care more about having money rather than see the benefit of an educated population. Edit: meant to reply to the person you replied to, but I guess it makes sense with your comment as well

I can't help but feel its the guys fault as well. Clearly nothing is happening after the 3rd date, so why keep on wasting money on her. Sure she's being a manipulative cunt, but the men keep spending the money. As far as the whole idea of a man being able to pull this off, its very possible, although not for dinner dates. I'm positive there's men out there that do this, although for different reasons("rewards").

So does that mean if the woman works and the husband stays at home, he's entitled to 10% of her salary?
/r/MensRights14/10/11 07:54 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
