I wouldn't want him to take me to a fancy restaurant or buy me expensive gifts but if he offers to pay on dates it'd be nice and I'd appreciate it (I wouldn't let him pay all the time tho, I'd offer to pay too sometimes) I think it's all about how much effort he's willing to put.
