"you didn't correct me though, you just didn't understand what i was saying. i never said rape to start with, and i corrected you after you misinterpreted what i was trying to say." Getting pregnant, if it is not by means of rape is not forced. Let's move on already, this much should be totally obvious. "it's completely ridiculous to take birth control, such as condoms, which have a 98% effectiveness rate and say people who are using them are "risky" or "irresponsible". heck, if you add in other…

You dont make sense, you were speaking about pregnancy and you said "forced" and you did not mention rape, and i simply corrected you. All pregnancy is not forced, approximately 0.5% is forced. Like it or not, this needed correcting. And birth control isn't 100% effective, those are the facts, don't shoot the mesenger. If you dont like it, i dont know what to do for you. It is irresponsible to take a risk and not be ready for the consequences. And enough with the ad hominems, calling me dense, i…

The first part of your response is basically nonsensical, and I mean that literally...I haven't the slightest clue what you are even talking about. You aren't talking about rape but you are? And even people who use contraception should be prepared for the consequences of risky behavior. It's called being responsible, and this generation seems full of irresponsible children who want the state to save them from everything. And once again on the subject of the fetus's value of life, you are merely …

First of all, you did not use the word "many", you simply stated this remark: we don't twist logic when it comes to womens needs. it's about acknowledging the unique circumstances of having another life forced onto you. This statement which you made was in the context of abortion overall, not specifically about rape. Nowhere in your comment did you even mention rape at all. Suddenly you are now mentioning rape. But even if your argument holds that abortion is justifiable in the scenario of rape …

What is more shocking to me is the position ppl in this reddit seem to be taking, this hard pro-choice stance isn't a natural view of the situation. We have been indoctrinated by tv to mindlessly repeat "her body her choice" it's pretty sad that mens rights activists are coughing up this feminist hairball. If a man should have kept it in his pants a woman should have kept her legs closed. End of story, the physicality of pregnancy is by no means a justification for this about face.

I dont think men should participate in the decision to abort, i dont think women should either. Women hold their bodes as sacred and i hold a childs body as sacred. I think when weighed we have this: A womans subtle health risks that are minscule Versus Certain death of a child I think these are both cases of the right to defend ones self not body autonomy and i think the former is less severe than the latter. Going with the greater good, i think abortion is unwarrented...not on religious ground…

I am aware that there are risks to pregnancy, i dont need a lecture. Stop with the ad homs of calling me stupid. Im not ignoring facts, yes women face risks from pregnancy, and there are changes to the body, but this does not justify killing another human being. You may think it is an invisibility or plant life or just cells swirling around in a circle (true only for the first week or two)...or perhaps it is "nothing" to you prior to consciousness or pain, but you have not provided a satisfactor…

Ok what is it about the difference which justifies the different treatment? Explain what it is in specific which justifies one being worthy of abortion and the other not being worthy of being killed? I am aware that there is a difference, it is an analogy, analogies do not have to be exactly the same. But if you want to point out that its the differences in the analogy which justify the different treatment you have point out what in specific it is you are saying justifies this different treatmen…

FORCED? am I in a mens rights reddit? Wtf And if you make the argument that not having consciousness yet and losng consciousness are somehow different and that this difference justifies the different treatment...you need to explain why. im well aware that the two are different but you need to explain what it is about this difference which justifies the different treatment, otherwise your argument will not hold.

Well, with the "my body my choice" argument, the "body autonomy" argument the woman can do whatever she wishes with her child and the man just needs to eat a shit sandwich and shut the f up, that seems to be the only option. If its her body her choice and the fetus does not exist, as many people even here claim, he cant say anything about it, its her body there is no other body there apparently (this is actually scientifically false, but thats what i'm dealing with). In any case, i think a body …

You tell me not to play verbal games and then ask me to start by "defining" human...as if this is even the real issue...definitions. One can define anything according to whatever demarcation point or cicumscribable scheme they wish, the fetus is a human in its early stages of development (human development is a life long process) I freely admit at many stages it may have no consciousness, but it still has rights. If you were unconscious for several months you would have rights also. And you say …

First of all, those are RISKS they do not come with every pregnancy. And they certainly do not justify killing in self defense. Only a tiny portion of pregnancies are caused by rape, so in most cases it was the womans choice that she is in this mess as well. In any other context this would be absurd. To kill another human being because you changed your mind? What about "manning up" here? Keep it in your pants? None of that right...and havinghalf your paychck taken out for 18 years isn't "serious…

Not really, i agreed that the statistic was false. It was an accident, but the point still holds because the percentage isnt far off anyway...its extremely low, about the same chances that you will crash in a plane after taking a few rides, perhaps ten rides on a plane...those odds do not justify murder in self defense.

You are correct, i quoted the wrong statistic, however, the actual statistic isnt off by much. http://www.reuters.com/article/2010/12/02/us-pregnancy-deaths-idUSTRE6B15P220101202 About 15 per 100,000 = %.015 Is it much different? Instead of .01 its .015.

Plants are not human being in an early stage of life. That is the difference. A fetus has a father, and a society that cares for its well being. It also will develop into something ith full fledged consciousness which deserves the right to life. We dont do this with any other human life in this condition. If someone slipped you something in your drink and made you pass out could they kill you and say "hey he didnt feel it and he wasn't conscious" NO. why? Because you WILL BECOME conscious after …

Also notice how he managed to work "in cold blood" in there without explaining why it applies. It's obvious why it applies. The fetus isn't trying to kill anyone and is not aware of what it is doing, this isn't an act of self defense. Killing it because it inconveniences you is clearly a case of killing in cold blood. I didn't think that required an explanation. *One thing I have never understood about anti-choicers is that they don't seem to get the fact that pro-choicers don't consider abortio…

The title of this topic contains the word Abortion, so you obviously expected people to talk about this. The financial abortion is a MR topic, this is a MR reddit group, and yes I did intend on talking about abortion, it would be impossible to not talk about this. jolly_mcfats posted a response which mentioned abortion and you responded to only that part of his post and ignored the rest. First of all, this is a topic about the western world, men's rights and women's issues are worldwide but to bring the topic out of scope here with some world wide statistic is pretty divisive. Most MRA movements occur within the feminized western world...So let's look at some statistics for America instead: "In a three-year longitudinal study of 4,000 American women, physician Melisa Holmes found that pregnancy may result from forced sexual intercourse, which causes over 32,000 pregnancies in th…

Killing another human being in cold blood is murder. Stop making exceptions for basic rational ethics in the cases of women. If someone slipped something in my drink and I lost sensation and consciousness would that grant them the right to kill me? No. So, just because it feels no pain, we should not assume it is ethical to murder it. If I had not sensations or feelings temporarily would that make me non-human or undeserving of basic human rights? No. Why do we twist logic into a pretzel when it…

*He said "most". I certainly recognize abortion as an exercise in bodily autonomy. * It's clear that most people here on reddit support it but what isn't clear is that most MRA's are pro-choice. As for you being pro-choice on the grounds that it is "body autonomy" justify it. During the segment of the pregnancy when abortion is generally permitted, there is no other person involved. There is no other entity or being. A potential being, certainly, but not an actual one. This is an argument of lin…

He said most of us, not all. Most of WHO? Most MRA's? Was there a survey done that all MRA's are pro-abortion rights? Almost all of the MRA's on youtube seem against abortion. If this is a reddit phenomenon than it's a reddit phenomenon...It doesn't represent all MRA's, just reddit MRA's apparently. And no, abortion is not murder. Are you living in a dream world or something? They literally have to KILL an organism. I'm sorry if this causes you cognitive dissonance, but it's a demonstrable fact …

Most of us recognize abortion as an exercise of body autonomy for which there is no masculine parallel. Ummm, no we don't. I don't recognize killing a fetus as an act of body autonomy. The strength of body autonomy arguments is in the fact that it's a person who has a right to their own body. In the case of pregnancy there are two bodies here, not just one. Body autonomy isn't about being able to do whatever one wishes with their own body, it's limits are demarcated at the line where HER body me…

I know it's extremely long but it's fascinating what depths these people will go to in order to validate the status quo inequities which face men. At one point in the video this guy even says he is against equality or something to that effect. Pretty crazy stuff. This is what we're up against people. It's people like this that are the actual problem. I'd categorize him as a "Dickgina: a species of mangina who is specifically a serious dick and who has become so due to being immersed in the world…

I just don't see how it is detrimental to men's rights for a woman to feel as if she has been raped and describe her experience as such I'll tell you exactly why. Here's why: when you take a word which has a consistently applied meaning. We all know what rape is. And this word is emotionally charged one, like racist or murderer are emotionally charged words...these are words which carry a lot of emotional "torches and pitchforks" behind them, and then you decide to get liberal with those words a…

It is the doctors responsibility to obtain informed consent from the patient. As I said to the other reply above, we are discussing cases where informed consent has clearly not been given in the first place, rather than as you characterize given but later reconsidered. You are saying two completely different things and I think you are using a technique of bait and switch. Honestly, sometimes you do have to be an asshole. Especially when you are dealing with people who are playing language games in an attempt to rearrange reality, big brother style. We know what rape is, it is not just the forced penetration with any object. If this were true, getting stabbed with a knife could be considered rape and raping a woman in her sleep would not be considered rape. We know what rape is because we've seen it OVER and OVER and OVER again on television, in movies and in the …

yadayadayada... "Isms" indicate a political ideology or philosophy, not just that one is present. They are the NAMES of said beliefs. When people describe "isms" they often refer to the context the ism took place in. If a high school teacher says "class, today we are going to talk about Jacobinism"...and then commenced to define it and impart details about the history of jacobinism to the class...would you enter the room and say "excuse me...no, no, no...This isn't the history of Jacobinism, Jac…

Nowhere in my post did I say "rape is DEFINED as...." my description of rape is not based on anything legal or dictionaries. Not sure if you are aware of this but the definition of rape has undergone changes already. There is no one definition of rape. A patient has the legal right to refuse medical treatment, at any time, and for any reason. First of all, arguing what's "legal" and what's "moral" are two separate things. And I don't think it's illegal for a doctor to continue with a procedure if a patient demands he stop and it can be proven to a demonstrable certainty that it's in the patients best interest that the procedure continue...For example, if a drugged up patient having some important surgery were to demand the procedure be stopped…

And this is exactly what many of these women are reporting happened to them. Several points: First, this is relative to context. Medical procedures, once started, are not at the command of the person being operated on in all instances. A person getting a surgical operation, by a skilled profession, for example doesn't have the medical authority to say "stop!" solely based on feelings and whims. There are many cases where once something begins it can not be reversed immediately and at the whim of…

Rape is basically having sex with someone who doesn't want to have sex and who vocalizes this. There are few exceptions to this, such as drug induced rape where the person doesn't know what's happening. The reason rape is being stretched out to mean 10,000 things now is because people are capitalizing on rape hysteria.

What is rape? A feeling of powerlessness combined with violation of your body. Rape is a FEELING of powerlessness and a violation of your body? Then if I go to the proctologist and feel powerless while he puts his finger up my ass, that's rape? Ummm...no. Rape is when you say "stop", or "no" or "get off of me" and the person continues anyway. It isn't just a feeling of powerlessness. Wow, people really are out for a power grab and a way of capitalizing on rape. It take more than a "feeling" you …

Oh god shut up, this is obviously not rape. That's like saying a visit to the proctologist is rape or having your balls touched by the doctor is sexual harassment. Your body isn't in constant violation, get over yourself. Not everybody wants you or even cares about your body. This is a medical procedure, jesus fucking christ.

Wow, another example of why it's a waste of time to even converse with feminists. Think about it...They don't even believe in equality anymore. They don't care about rationality or equality. They just want power and it's disgusting. The moment you hear someone is a feminist, just imagine a child stamping and stomping around with fingers in ears humming, that's who you are dealing with.

I reviewed this statistical data, but the statical data is extremely vague. It says "made to penetrate". What does this mean "made to"? The girl had a gun or a knife or had him in a headlock or tied him to the bed? I don't get it. I can't really picture what they are talking about in concrete reality. The only thought that fits into this is that men were coerced into having sex by means of sexual harassment. For example, he didn't want to do it but did anyway because she kept asking him. Is that…

I'm actually native american and I am disgusted with liberals constantly making us look pathetic whining about stolen lands. Shit happened and it's all in the past. I know I grew up less privileged but growing up less privileged is not a problem specific to natives, it's a CLASS issue which effects people of all races. Men being raped by women shouldn't be a major focus of the MRM, because it's extremely rare. Men being sexually harassed and stalked is a more real issue. I know so many women who harass their boyfriends to have sex with them more often than they would like. For example, my girlfriend does this with me where she pressures me into having sex with her like every day, when I'd rather not. It's extremely annoying. In addition, women grabbing men like it's ok. I've actually had feminist women do this…

I sometimes feel like there is a lot of cross over between black issues and men's issues. Black people are demonized in the media and in public and so are men. I know this sounds funny but it's astonishing sometimes because studying men's rights activism has clued me into some of the issues black people face with being seen as a criminal, etc...I actually did a double take and started viewing black issues less defensively.

I read over your post. I don't believe feminism is exclusively a belief system which is self defined by feminists. Feminism is a broad category of an extremely diverse range of opinions and ideas and it is best defined by what it is. You probably don't like this because it doesn't stack into your mental shelf neatly. And that's fine. If you need to have a WRA's and masculist's and anti-masculists and binary's-galore, so be it. What I wrote was that feminism, at it's core, could be simplified as this: "women have grievances and they should be addressed" in the article you linked to the website says feminism can be described as: [yadayada] "women, as a class, are disadvantaged relative to men, as a class." I actually agree that this is the position feminists take and that sociologists are describing that accurately, but the position feminists take doesn't take priority over reality. feminism itself is predicated on the idea that women are oppressed and men are privileged. I actually think it's the apex fallacy which is the root of this.
