i've said it before and it bears repeating: circumcision is the american equivalent to south korea's fan death.

this is either oblivious to men who fall victim to violence (especially outside bars and clubs which is something of an issue in melbourne as of late), or poorly reported. given that doyle says "where people feel safe at night", i'm hoping it's the latter. for those that can't access the article: SPECIAL safety zones to protect women would be created in the inner city under a plan to go before the Melbourne City Council. Women would be able to seek refuge in well-lit areas with security camera s…

oh yeah, and the page this is shared from, from what i infer from their posted articles, basically espouses the position that women shouldn't be jailed when they commit crimes.

from the article... In our society, there’s a rule that it’s not acceptable for men to touch or even look at children that are not their own. While this might seem paranoid, it is justified ... While only a minority of men are paedophiles, there are enough of them to justify the social convention. As a father, I sleep better at night knowing that there are social barriers between men and my daughter. Despite the inconvenience and unfair assumption of guilt, I’m glad that male teachers and childc…

from the comments... A man could die driving home the very evening his child was conceived and his demise wouldn’t make a jot of difference to the infant in question. (In fact it might be a better outcome for the child– no chance of DV or sexual abuse in the home, for a start…) the sheer lunacy of these people would amuse me far more than piss me off if they weren't the ones leading the movement.

from a link featured on that page... I expect that my sexual needs will be honored. I deserve mutual and fulfilling orgasm(s) every time I make love. I am fortunate that my husband treats me like a goddess every single day. But this is not enough. emphasis mine. what the everloving fuck kind of sense of entitlement is this.

yeah, but the way the article is worded makes me wonder whether they came to such an agreement - after all, it was a private ad he answered, he didn't go to a sperm bank. the thing that got to me about this one is that the woman got the birth certificate amended years later after it was supposedly set in stone, then didn't even bother to stick around.

former partner at that. this guy wants to be a part of his daughter's life, but with the blessing of the courts, someone who isn't the girl's biological parent not only screws him over but shoots through as soon as she feels like it. she doesn't deserve to be on that birth certificate.
