YOU ARE ALLOWED TO REFUSE SEX WHENEVER YOU WANT WITH ZERO EXPLANATION. Anyone who doesn't respect this doesn't respect YOU. At a gut level I believe this man wants to control you, and that is a sickness in any human being. This is not acceptable in a loving relationship.

check out the intermittant fasting sub. Rather than using finite resources of 'willpower' train your body not to crave excess sugar and carbs to begin with. changed my life.

no one "owns" your sexuality. If anything, you might feel bad because those men weren't the right partners for you, and so the sex didn't feel special - it's easy to feel used, too, as a woman. It's important to be able to leave the past behind though - as long as you're waking up each day resolved to make different decisions, and then follow through with it, then that's the person you are - we're not defined by our past. I have a deeply traumatic sexual history and yet my partner and I have a w…

I'd say men only get more appealing if they're making money and managed to stay in shape/keep their hair. Personally, I'm not attracted to men over 40. 35ish is the range I'd most like to sleep with, and nothing's a bigger turnoff than a beer gut and a bald head (no offense dudes) so I'd say men just have a little more time to figure their shit out.

^this. physically I don't think a guy is more attractive over 35-40ish, but in terms of non-physical traits it's a huge stigma not to have money for a man at that age.

social media is a wasteland. ditch as much of it as you can, be wary of people who are too deep in it. it's a romance-killer.

Well, you can! I totally get that, sometimes I too just want to lay back in the cut and be one of the "quiet" ones b/c of how exhausting it can be to be a party-fueler, especially once you get known for it and it becomes expected. Honestly, "withholding" oneself takes practice, but it becomes easier and you do save a lot of energy without letting your social life wane. I found it helpful to give myself something of a pep talk before going out or meeting up with folks as a reminder that people do…

girl, don't lose your sense of humor. Being feminine doesn't mean suppressing your personality or natural gregariousness - obviously this was probably one of your traits that attracted your BF in the first place. That said, I'm in a similar boat - kinda loud, jokey, brash etc. Being feminine should not equal "silencing" yourself, and many men love a girl who's confident with a good sense of humor. Are you sure you're actually behaving obnoxiously, or are you just concerned that you might be beca…

the irony is that I had sexual issues for my entire life and only in the last ~5 years have they really been put in the past. The deal is that I haven't really had that much time in my life to ENJOY sex - I wasn't able to have sex/enjoy it until I met my current partner, so my concern is that I'm running out of time to actually HAVE a damn sex life and experience more than a tiny slice of pleasure before it's....gone forever-ish? I honestly feel like I'm running out of time to have a healthy pre…

That's good to hear. Even if I was single though, I just can't tolerate being in a fat body. It's like knowing there's an insect crawling under your skin and being unable to get it out. I just have to remember it doesn't have to be permanent...

that's actually the part I'm MOST worried about...I've been on and off depressed since childhood, so I already know how awful depression is and I'm terrified of going into on purpose but in such a way that I can't even imagine now...also, the very fact that PPD exists at all makes me enraged...like, WHY is this a thing? We spend 9 months growing a human and dealing with hormones and crazy body changes and a freaking birth AND THEN nature just lets us be profoundly miserable for a long time after…

Oh yes, everyone knows my issues. I've been in therapy, don't care for it, but I probably haven't found a good therapist yet? The problem is that time is ticking and I don't exactly have years to wait around to 'get better'. My post is pretty dramatic, but honestly most of these issues are behind me...it's just that I fear them resurfacing with certain triggers (i.e. pregnancy) among other things. I just started a new job though and probably will look at therapy again once I'm more financially s…

I was on meds in college and I hated them. I've since ditched meds altogether and I'm all natural now, ha. Honestly, just cutting out booze (I was formerly a heavy drinker) and just doing the deep work of psychological excavation + meditation + exercise is the only thing that keeps me sane. I'm glad meds work for some people, but I just can't ever go down that route again.

I appreciate how many truly helpful and supportive comments I've gotten. The internet can be a nasty place, but it's got it's wholesome moments too.

the thing is I'm an only child and my mom had a c-section. She may have some good info regarding other body changes, but not that one. Grandma squeezed out 6 tho, so hey...

Thank you, that's some good information. TBH the depression part of it really scares me because I've been non-functional depressed for long periods of time before and doing something that I KNOW will trigger that kind of emotional ordeal is very frightening to me. I can only hope I'll have foreknowledge and resources to combat it. Thanks again!

Have you looked into intermittent fasting? Great way to lose weight and also eliminate a lot of cravings and sugar crashes that can be a drag on your day. I thrifted religiously in college - the more obscure, out of the way and churchy thrift stores would be less picked over than the ones closer to the school. The trick is to go frequently and only give it a relatively quick once over. I found a lot of gems for super cheap that way. The sub skincareaddiction is awesome; they recommend a lot of p…

Thank you, that's a good idea! I think I mainly posted here since I figured I'd get less "you go girl" sugar-coated responses than most women-based forums.

Thank you, that's a very honest response. I think I've made up my mind to go through with it I'm just very nervous about dealing with all the negative emotions I'm "used to" but x10 on top of very real health/parenting challenges. My SO is a champ, but I do like the idea of getting some additional professional help. Not feeling alone in this is really helpful.

Thank you, that's a really thoughtful response! I am really worried about being "triggered" and I can only hope I can handle it with as much grace as I can muster.

Did you get a "tummy tuck" or something like that? As much as I'm not a fan of invasive surgery, I may eventually consider this. Thank you for your response, it's really helpful!

Thank you, that's a really thoughtful response. I guess I'm more-or-less aware of what's in store, just more uncertain about how/if I'll be able to handle it. I guess it's going to be a struggle regardless, sometimes I just need to hear someone say that it's worth it. Good to know the orgasms get better; not really having too many of those now!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
