Running into the same issue, so I kind of stopped dating for the past year or so. I'm a late bloomer (lost my virginity at 37) and recently turned 40, so a bit bummed about not really being able to explore my sexuality, but I really don't want to keep taking out girls for dinners or drinks with no chance of a sexual outcome.

Yeah, obviously didn't explain the entire story/dynamic, but she's totally broken, and I'm totally insecure (working on it tbh, and I can hide it very well), so it was just a fucked up dynamic. I was hoping it would just "work out" and I missed out on one, maybe two, situations where sex could've happened. Long story short, I didn't feel "chosen" and she felt too "pressured." Living and learning. Just needed to vent, thanks for reading.

I'm in West LA which has taken a huge dive after covid. Traveling in Europe was so awesome, if I get a remote job, I might move. But my logistics are pretty good: apartment like 6 blocks from the beach, lots of nearby places to grab drinks, etc. I'm 5'11, ~175lb, I'd like to lose a bit of weight, maybe get down to 160 and see my abs again, one of my goals for this year.

Very true, my journey definitely started out with a lot of religious shame, but I'm getting better. Luckily I don't look my age (most girls guess anywhere from 25-35), but I still feel insecure in some regards, and I'm sure that comes out in various ways. In 2025, I did a lot of self-worth work, but sometimes I still feel like I just don't deserve to be with a hot woman that enthusiastically wants to be with me. It's a hard pattern to break.

Lazy generosity. I’ve got money now. I use it more than I should. I do this too, and (you likely already know this) but it's not a replacement for game. There's guys with zero ambition, zero money, etc. that slay way more than I do. A better move would even be asking her playfully "you're not going to buy me a shot?" instead of buying her one. You're also putting too much emphasis on making the initial move, it's really not even that impactful, since it's basically step 0.00001 in the long chain…

Numbers are very easy, I don't even consider those a "success" anymore. Basically anyone will give you a number if you're not a total weirdo. I got an insta-date (changed locations, got drinks at a cool bar) once with this 24-year-old smokeshow when I was traveling in France (she was also American), was fucking awesome, but I was dating another girl so I didn't push things too far. Still regret it, should've tried to bring her to my AirBnB. Later, she invited me to go to Rome with her but I was …

You likely have a problem with self-worth and self-esteem. I have the same problem and nightly meditations have helped. I know it sounds kind of dumb, but having that intrinsic self-confidence (you're awesome because of who YOU are, not because of how people perceive you) will change the way you interact with everyone, including women.

Keep in mind that I'm not very good at this (yet!), but this is my take on things: I don't think you should ask a woman what you did "wrong" for a number of reasons: Every woman is different, so for girl A, what you did may have been a turn-on, even though for girl B what you did was a turn-off. These mixed signals won't actually help you get "better" at seduction, they'll just confuse you (and they've confused me in the past) Women are non-confrontational, so she'll make up some dumb shit to ma…

I'm having a hard time navigating this as well. I'm in my late 30s, but have only had one sexual partner. I'm very much a late bloomer, and would hate to get old and settle down without at least sowing some wild oats. Hell, I'm not even sure what I like in bed. How I look at it is that love is kind of like war. In war, you have subterfuge, you have spies, you have misinformation, and basically, at the end of the day, if a woman wants to sleep with you, she will, and if she doesn't, she won't. Sh…

Your posts were super helpful, I think you might be spot-on. Her attraction towards me was a completely different ball-game than my asking for her compliance, and doing tension + release cycles, and I confused the two. My idea was: well she's into me, all I have to do is be reasonably normal and she'll fuck me. But in reality, the steps to escalate still need to be followed to a T (I usually brush hair and touch face prior to kissing, but not this time, which may have been a bit jarring). I'm al…

The way I look at it is: I've never ever regretted escalating. I've never thought "wow I should not have went for the kiss, it made things awkward" because the only way to get the kiss is to go for the kiss. On the other hand, I HAVE regretted not escalating. I've regretted staying in the friend zone too long, not making a move, not approaching, being too platonic, and not sexual enough. I'd say 99% of my regrets are not action, but inaction. If you shoot your shot and it doesn't work, you can a…

How is flirting, drinking, constantly touching just "hanging out" to you lol. You're acting like I went for the kiss out of the blue, which is clearly not the case.

I don't really think that going for a kiss after we've been talking, drinking, and flirting for like 4 hours and switched locations is coming on too strong.

You are likely correct, but she was SO forward in basically the first 80% of the date, I felt we were way past ASD. Goes to show I've got a LOT to still learn before I can reliably get laid whenever I please. I'll check out your posts.

leave out the Lego collection talk (unless this was a joke) Yeah, was totally a joke, I don't play with legos 😂. Thanks for the advice! I feel great about the date overall, I genuinely had a ton of fun with her. Maybe I over-escalated, maybe she's jaded, agreed, who knows. I'm not too worried, and happy to be on this journey, I feel like I've gone in the past 3-5 years from not even able to get a number, to getting numbers easily, getting dates pretty regularly, and in the past year, getting kis…

Yep, great point. I need to be more intentional in creating these "magic" moments. Women want everything to feel floaty and spontaneous, while I tend to be way more analytical: "ok now I'm going to kiss her, make out a bit, then I will fuck her." Instead, I should've been more "in the moment," especially in setting up the kiss.

The Lego thing is obviously a joke (which every girl understands fwiw), but why do you think "I really want to kiss you right now" shows weakness? I've done the whole "come here" and I grab them and kiss, but I've had mixed results. But maybe you're right, since after the kiss (and the kiss itself was very uneventful), everything went to shit.

But SHE was deflated after the kiss and she moved away from YOU as a result. Great insight, yeah I feel like I've started to adapt to different scenarios and learn body language cues, but sometimes it's just out of my control. I think a different hotel would've helped (the vibe on the rooftop was definitely not "sexy"). Lesson learned.

Definitely not hygiene, I take care of myself (brush my teeth/floss daily). We were both drinking so, if anything, probably just tasted alcohol when we kissed.

No, I wasn't that direct lol, my stated confusion was just about the vibe shift. Like "hey, we're having a great time, what's wrong" etc. But to be clear, this girl is definitely easy, I just kind of suck at this so trying to read the vibes and lead the interaction in a direction I want.

Thanks bro, yeah, currently my big project is working on self-esteem and self-love. I had the realization a lot of my self-worth was extrinsic (I sold a company, I made a bunch of money, I graduated from a top-10 school, etc.) and not intrinsic (I'm a good person, I'm honest, I'm loyal, I love my friends and family, etc.), which was significantly fucking up my inner game, as I was always trying to qualify myself or trying to prove to women that I'm the shit, when in reality, it should just be my…

"Shut-in" is a bit of an exaggeration, but I was just a very busy professional basically only doing work stuff, travel for work stuff, or school stuff. I appreciate it though. I've always been decent looking, but sex took a while as I grew up very conservative and had to break a few hard-held beliefs. Honestly, the story is kind of cool. I went to Paris with this girl I was dating and I lost it there, so even though the relationship didn't work out, losing my V-card late in life was kind of roma…
