Anything you enjoy doing and would like your partner to have that shared interest. I met my husband at a tech meetup for example and we enjoy diving into different business projects together, watching shows like succession and shark tank, that sort of thing. Some other places you can meet good guys: dog park, library, events, coffee shops, classes (doesn’t have to be at a university, I took a coding class and now-husband was my mentor ;). Just make sure they have kind eyes.

I started leaving the house without a stroller as soon as mine could walk… so around 14 months we were off! I have a little Fanny pack type purse where I keep a bag of snacks, 1 diaper, travel wipes, and small little water cup. I keep a lot more stuff in the car but I hate all the gear. I literally didn’t want to go anywhere the first year because of all the gear.

The first year of being a first time parent was HARD. But toddler years are so fun. We still travel but choose places differently. We booked an Airbnb on the beach last year so I had a kitchen to make meals and next year we’re thinking of going to the Nickelodeon Caribbean resort or a Disney cruise. I’m looking forward to traveling more now that I’m a parent. Can’t wait till they’re older and mix history with travel… how fun would it be to learn about pyramids and see them in person vs just read…

Maybe he secretly doesn’t want kids and is trying to sabotaje it? It sounds like he’s choosing loyalty to his low paying job over his family

Oh damn ok then he def needs to look elsewhere or negotiate for stock options at the very least. He should start interviewing places and when he gets a job offer that’s higher go back to his current employer and try to negotiate a higher salary. So he can use the other job as leverage and if the employer says no then he has the other job lined up.

Can he get a trade job? I feel like that’s where the money is these days. I just paid a guy to paint a 1200 sq ft house (walls, trim, ceiling, doors) $4800 and he completed the job in 3 days. Not too shabby. The wife sets up the appointments and collects payment and he does the work.

He watches the baby in the morning most days so I can sleep in a little bit longer. It means so much to me.

I lived with my husband before marriage but I do think this is a good strategy. There’s just something so fun about getting a place together and it would have been even more fun to have done that after marriage with everyone’s blessings and gifts. A new beginning. New chapter. I felt like I read chapter 3 before 2 and it would have been more enjoyable in the correct order.

I watched A LOT of family shows to learn what a good husband/wife dynamic should be like. I loved Growing Pains and I Love Lucy. I didn't daydream about my wedding day at all... it stressed me out more than made me excited. I also had trust issues with guys, until I met my fiance... that's one of the ways I knew he was the one. Finally a guy I can trust! I also wanted to become financially independent with my partner asap so we wouldn't fight about money. So I think it was a good thing because i…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
