It doesn't clear her but from what I have read of the mother and what comments the judge has made I think the mother at least feels remorse for what happened in her family. They should be treated equally and if a man had suffered abuse and was deemed traumatized the courts would look at that matter. As long as you had a descent judge. Now if a woman mistreats her child and she has been the victim of abuse that doesn't make what she did right.
