That’s true you didn’t. I just had a knee jerk reaction because I was thinking of all the young people reading that thread. But you didn’t tell him had too. And you are correct that he really should find a girl who shares similar values because it s otherwise a recipe for disaster. Tell your girl congrats!! It’s a real challenge this day and age.

Yeah, to piggyback off this. At my gym there is a trainer that’s on the shorter side and he’s an absolute fucking babe. I’m sure has plenty of dates so I don’t dare try but, to answer your question. Yes, short dudes are attractive and as long as their kind, hookups should be no problem.

He’s referring the book “ No More Mr. Nice Guy” it’s basically a book about creating boundaries and standing up for yourself. It’s hard to answer your question OP. I’m nice, it’s really just who I am and it doesn’t always work out. But at the end of the day, I’d rather be me then anything else so. There’s nothing wrong with being a virgin except to the person who is a virgin but honestly, the hit and quit kinda sex is extremely boring but I could see why you think you are missing something.

My housemate is English and that’s what he stood out to him about the US is that people talk to strangers here, in the UK it’s considered.. rude or odd or out of character. I wonder if that was created to keep the class lines in place? Anyway, maybe it’s time to break out of that mold OP. Good luck with the dates.

Genuine question for the heterosexual folks, do y’all ever have the STI conversation beforehand? I get the impression that there’s not a lot communication before hook ups. Because to me would be a great time to mention your desire to hold off a bit about sex.

“Works sets your Free” I imagine working in the camps had a big impact on him but he had already written a novel on psychotherapy so maybe he as already thinking of that? It’s not the worst concept though, finding purpose through work that you enjoy. Boredom can lead to poor choices especially if one doesn’t have good impulse control. His take on it is interesting to me as a psych student. Like how do you stop your patients from killing themselves? Some kind of meaning right? Regardless of what …

I really like Ram Dass’s take on love. That one aspires to “BE LOVE” rather then just loving. There a concept called relationship anarchy that kinda fits into it in a very broad sense. That love is abundant vs scarcity like so many of us have been taught. So how that works for my own life is I try to be loving to those who cross my path, even strangers and random folks I cross. It doesn’t always work, it’s a process for sure but it’s what feels good in my heart. It feels better to me to be lovin…

Thanks for the insightful post, OP. You are super spot on and I can really relate. Have you ever read about Attachment styles? I found that I have fallen into that the cycle a lot based on the theory.

Well, to be fair we all need connection and intimacy. I see (myself included) people give themselves shit for wanting to be in a relationship or to have someone to love. That's okay. What the hell else are we here to do on the planet? Work? Make money or material possessions? Nah, connection is key. Has anyone read " Man's Search for Meaning'?-Viktor Frankel. His expression of love for his wife, well really just love, while doing some awful task is seriously the purest expression of purpose I ha…
