I wear a fake engagement ring when I work at my bar job. Wearing an engagement ring filters out a lot of the creepy comments and dudes hitting on me because they respect a non-existent fiancé more than they do me, a real live person, just doing my job not wanting to be harassed.

I too was in India. Absolutely beautiful country. I had a great time. But while I was there I had more men taking photos of me (without permission) at the taj Mahal than the taj itself. I am blonde hair, blue eyes and men were trying to get close to me so someone could take photos of us together. Also, in the restaurants, the male restaurant owners would make us come outside the restaurant and take photos with them outside the restaurant to post on the walls of the restaurant as bragging rights …

This used to happen to me all the time. I love my best friend, she really has the best intentions, but it started getting really offensive. I was single for 13 years, I am also proudly childfree. My best friend would tell me she wants to set me up with a "guy from work." first thing I would ask is if he wanted kids. She would say "yeah but..." as if I would overlook my desire not to have kids because some random dude might be able to end my oh so pathetic, sad, lonely life. /s My response to her…

Us going on a trip to the mountains to go winter hiking (one of my favourite hobbies), getting up early to hit the trail I was really excited and he told me to "be quiet" and "you're too excited. Calm down".... That's when I discovered he was a manipulative narcissist. You are telling me to be less happy to do the thing that makes me happy. He also yelled at me on the drive home when I pointed at a sign. He literally said, "DON'T POINT AT THINGS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I'M DRIVING!" I broke up with …

He responded with "sexual assault doesn't happen in my division of the military, we don't have any women in my platoon"... BELIEVES THAT SEXUAL ASSAULT ONLY HAPPENS TO WOMEN IN THE MILITARY. Bye.

I've been told that I could have a better phone voice before. My phone voice is just my regular voice but I'm sure it's because I don't giggle like most people do on the phone. I'm not monotone or rude, I just don't giggle and people hate it. I can be friendly and not giggle!!!

7 billion other people on this planet to date other than this guy and she's debating what to do in this scenario? Only correct answer is end it. He's clearly thinking about sleeping with other women and is "communicating" to see how far he can push her.

Violence against women comes in so many forms... Including doctors who take it upon themselves to complete unauthorized procedures on women and then try to hide it. This video is absolutely terrifying to me.

I didn't know that! I wonder if there are Canadian ones in there! Or even a doctor willing to have a reasonable conversation about the risks and the procedure without shutting me down the second the words "don't want kids" comes out of my mouth.

I have asked three times to be referred for a tubal ligation. I was 24/27/29. Every single time I was told no and every single time I was told I would change my mind. The last one said "no, because you haven't been in a long term relationship" as if my relationship status has anything to do with my desire to have children. I'm 34 and still am not sterilized.

So, this woman is dealing with the fact that she is actively and rapidly dying and he's upset he has to do all the chores. You have got to be kidding me! "I have to be the go to parent"... Oh you mean like most mothers are in dual parent relationships 99% of the time. Woe is me! How dare he abandon his wife and show his children that people are disposable when they become a burden. This was disgusting to read!

I agree with you completely! When I was dating, it started out fun, then became exhausting. It became mentally and emotionally exhausting. There was a point where I realized that it was feeling like work and not fun anymore, so I just stopped. I took a 9 month hiatus and refocused my time on other things. When something isn't fun, don't do it!

Once went on this date with a guy. It was actually one of the better first dates I've ever been on. He made a comment about renovating his garage with his dad and I said, "oh, why don't you get your roommate to help?" (I made the assumption his roommate was just another guy) and he stops and makes this uncomfortable face and I was like, "what?!" he goes on and says "I was hoping this wouldn't come up this soon. Butttt my roommate is actually my ex gf of ten years that I still own the house with.…

I went full dumb once and dated a separated guy. We dated for 8 months. As soon as his divorce day was upon us, he broke up with me and said "I don't want to be in a relationship." I said "life is too short to be with people who don't want to be with you, " put all his stuff in a bag and asked him to leave my house. Despite how well I handled the ending it became very clear I was nothing but a place holder, someone to give him affection and make him feel loved while recovering from his loveless …

He was actually staying at my house for a few days a week and his dog lived here too. I would also dog sit when he was out of town working. Don't get me wrong, I freaking loved having a dog, but I was dog sitting, walking, feeding, and cleaning up after the dog and there was hair on everything. I found hair for six months after we broke up. My ex was a bum with a fat bank account. That's it. Then he decides to text me in October this year asking if we could get together to talk... This! It wasn't until my ex and I broke up that I realized what a LVM he was and how stupid I was. He made $150,000 a year and I was just serving because I had lost my full time job and here we were splitting the damn bill! He was making 3-4x as much as me and I was going 50/50. Never again will I make that mistake.

I journal anytime my thoughts get out of control. I find that once those feelings are expressed in some form, they weaken or disappear. Also recommend reading "attached" to read about your attachment style. If you are with someone, I recommend getting them to read it also so they understand your actions and what sort of things help when your mind gets away from you a bit.

This is absolutely correct!!! If his first instinct is to ruin something she cares about at the first sign of conflict, this is just the beginning stages of what will turn into gradual increases of abuse in their relationship. Today it's a video game because of an argument. Tomorrow it's slashing her tires so she can't leave the house. Then what.... This isn't a little red flag, this is a flag the size of a cruise ship. She needs to get out now.

I went a full 9 months without even attempting to date. No online, no set up's. Nothing. I focused on school, on working a second job to score some extra income, went on solo back country camping trips. Everything about dating during that time period actually disgusted me and when I did a cost calculation, a $200+ night at the bar I worked at was a way better use of my time than some shitty ass date where they don't even bother to ask/learn anything about me. This is absolutely horrible. How is it possible that it's better you be with anyone (attracted to them or not) than actually be ok being single. This happened to me almost every date when I was dating a couple years ago. It got so bad I didn't even think I needed to actually be on the date whatsoever for the guy to have a good time. I agree! I think the dishonesty is way more unattractive than being short. Everyone has their types but if he had to lie about his height it means he's insecure about it. I went on a date with a short guy who told me "men don't like women who wear heels" I was wearing heels at the time... Umm no, dude, you don't like women wearing heels. I will never date military men ever again. I find them to not have a grey area... They are all black and white with no compromise whatsoever. And the scariest thing ever said to me by a military guy (Canadian military) was after I asked him if he ever did any volunteer work overseas and he said "no! I joined the military to kill people not help people!" I nearly puked in my mouth. I chugged my beer and asked for the bill right there and left.

I was having this discussion just the other day that OLD dehumanizes people in that it turns real human beings into nothing but a fast judgement on something superficial and then a finger motion. Further to that, OLD is set up like gambling in that the whole random payout (a match) keeps you addicted. Not knowing when you will get another match keeps you swiping because you want that hit of endorphins when you get a match and get that ego boost. It's literally set up to keep you on it.

They all were dressed well, make up, hair done, all really put in some hard core effort. The men... Most couldn't even be bothered to make sure their shirt wasn't wrinkled. The women were outgoing and cheerful and engaging and the men were socially awkward, unable to hold up a conversation, and it was like pulling teeth while I had to ask all the…

I was also in a similar situation. I was trauma bonded too. I even went back to him once after getting out the first time because I was so manipulated. It took me months to heal from it and after half a year of no contact, he messaged me in November out of nowhere to go for "a friendly coffee" I straight up said I'm going to pass and that was the first moment I felt like I truly escaped. Then I got a call from a number I didn't know. It was the cheating guy who told me to call his gf and tell her I didn't see what I saw. I straight up said to him "no, I'm not goi…

I do this every time I travel to a foreign country alone. It's much easier to tell men hounding you in the markets that you "have to ask your husband first" and instantly they back off because they see a ring. It's sad I have to do this to have my "no thank you" respected but if it works it works.
