Yeah the age difference is weird and if you're not interested then you should tell the guy and talk to other people for extra security if he doesn't seem capable to let go. I'd just add about the "approach everywhere": yeah you can do that, but chances are you will be much better in some settings than others according to what kind of person you are. For that reason I'd say you would do better by focusing mostly on these areas that fit your demographics rather than attempting stuff randomly.
