Bill Burr is such an amazing mix of straight up, no-nonsense comedy without the whole being offensive just for the sake of offensiveness schtick. (I realize his comedy now is much different from even 5 or 10 years ago, but I'm looking at Bill Burr today and not when he started out/O&A time, etc.) He's also one of the few famous people who are vocal about the fact that they don't know anything about politics and that's why he doesn't talk about it. Just a very down to earth guy who puts on absolu…

Who is Terry Fator and how is he the 5th highest paid comedian on that list? I'm a huge fan of comedy and have literally never heard his name once

Definitely, I’m 6 foot tall and have a totally mediocre dick and tiny Irish balls edit- in retrospect this is more information than I should have delivered to you folks so I apologize

Nailed it, I have no excuses on that one, ignored every single red flag simply because of how attractive she was. Pretty common story I think. Just to be fair though, neither of us were in a good place, I contributed to the toxicity of the relationship as well. There were really no winners out of that relationship

There is much more to the story of that particular relationship, it was terribly codependent and extremely toxic right from the get go. But thanks for saying that, I’ve made my peace with it at this point

It’s a long story but I did not realize the person that she was cheating with was a woman at the time. I really don’t think that was a consideration either way, the area we live in, although a very rural small town, has a huge gay population and it’s not a big deal around here even to the very old and very religious folks She did what she did because she was drunk and arguably not mentally stable. Like I said in another comment, I really do hope she’s doing a lot better now, her mother died a co…

Durham is in the piedmont, you’re getting colder. No offense but I’m just not willing to say the tiny town I live in on reddit

I don’t know how it would have gone, that’s the point, I did not want to test the theory in the first place Either way, if that concept shocks you, I’m assuming you have not spent much in small rural towns

I feel like you are fishing for an argument here but I’m not even really sure what you are trying to get up to be honest

No, but you have the state correct, Much smaller and more rural mountain town than Asheville, but similar vibe with the younger generation of locals

She did have some Appalachian Hill people strength floating around in her genetics, so I’m glad I didn’t get the chance to find out for sure

I’m doing great. I hope she’s doing good as well. The last conversation we had was later that same year that we broke up, on Thanksgiving day, where she told me she hoped I choked on my turkey. No hard feelings, life’s too short to hate people

It absolutely is, especially in a small town. I'm not saying I'm hoping to get away with murder because I'm buddy-buddy with law enforcement, but I will say I haven't had to deal with any speeding tickets for a long time, so that's nice. The good news is that even being such a small, rural mountain town, overall this place is pretty progressive, so we don’t have the racist, power-hungry, abusive cops that a lot of other towns like this might have. If we did I would definitely not be cozying up w…

I'd like to think that she went with women because I'm the pinnacle of manliness and since she couldn't hack it with me she figured she needed to give up on men entirely. Unfortunately I don't think that's actually the case, so I have to endure quite a bit of ribbing from my buddies about that time I turned my girlfriend gay

She started dating the woman she was cheating on me with, and they are now married and living across the country, so apparently dating me is so bad that it turns you lesbian. I never told anyone about that night (aside from my current girlfriend and a couple of friends) and to my knowledge she never talked about it either, but who knows on that one. I still live in that same small town because my career is rooted just up the mountain, but now I know all of the local cops, sheriffs, troopers, cou…

I got attacked one night after finding evidence that my girlfriend at the time was cheating on me. I'm not going to claim I feared for my life or anything because of the size/strength differential, but rather the potential consequences of her lying about what happened. I told her I didn't want to talk to her and we might be able to talk a bit at a later time but at that point, I had a lot to process and facts were facts. She was super drunk and came at me slapping and pushed me against a door wi…

I legitimately don’t think anybody who could be considered a “real man” gives a shit about Gillette’s advertising You should be switching brands because you can get better for way less, not because you’re being oppressed by a razor company. Grow up, Jesus y’all are embarrassing

Hey man, why don't we let her prison sentence do its job and hopefully rehabilitate her and make her a better person overall. That probably won't happen, but let's just hope for that. You know, instead of wishing rape on people.

I manage a community association for a large gated community and was there as the representative for the Board of Directors in a mediation for a lawsuit. Same with the mediation earlier in the month, just a different case. I'm definitely not an attorney and don't claim to be by any means. The reason I say it's something of a mix is because prior to ever appearing on the show, the parties discuss potential options and the final outcome is decided and agreed upon by everyone at the table prior to …

It's really somewhere in between an arbitration and mediation if you look at how the show works, but more so the former than the latter either way. Having been in two mediations in the last month I'm unfortunately intimately familiar with that particular process.

The proceeding shown on the show is literally an arbitration, and Judy is there in the capacity of an arbitrator. http://blogs.findlaw.com/celebrity_justice/2012/01/is-judge-judy-a-real-court-top-3-secrets-of-tv-judge-shows.html http://mentalfloss.com/article/29829/what-legal-authority-does-judge-judy-have https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judge_Judy

I'm no expert but I can't imagine that an actual custody decision is being made by Judge Judy, who is actually an arbitratror.

I didn't say that it was not discrimination, but that it would be incredibly stupid to sue for something like that. You stand to gain nothing in practice and will only burn bridges. I'm not saying that it is just or acceptable for anyone to be discriminated against, but part of being an adult is learning to pick your battles.

I'm guessing you don't have much of a long-standing career yourself if your first move in that situation would be to try to sue the company you work for over such an innocuous comment...

Are you trolling me or do you actually think that those activities are burning 4k calories?

What are you using to calculate the 5000+ calories you are claiming that you have burned in one period?
/r/PussyPassDenied14/12/16 10:18 PM

Boomers in particular grew up under the constant threat of stuff like trichinosis in pork, so it's pretty deeply ingrained in their psyche I think. Tough to change some of those opinions after decades of being set in their ways.

Like I said, Michael Phelps claims he consumes around 10,000 kcal per day when training for the Olympic games. I doubt very seriously that a high school athlete is eating and/or burning even half as many calories as the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time. I think that he may have been exaggerating, and now we're beating a dead horse because I doubt he's ever going to come back and address this anyways.

You're not reading my posts I guess, I am specifically asking if that number includes the RMR or not. Even with a normal RMR for an active adult male of around 2000 calories included, burning an additional 2000 calories consistently each day is still a TON of work. I'm just trying to get some clarification on what the guy is doing on a daily basis to burn that many calories because again, that's impressive.
/r/PussyPassDenied14/12/16 06:43 PM
2

Right, that's why I was asking if that 4000 calories burned was factoring in his resting metabolic rate or if he was saying that he burns 4000 additional calories. If the latter, that's pretty impressive and maybe a little unbelievable...the former makes way more sense.
/r/PussyPassDenied14/12/16 06:24 PM

Yeah but taking in 4000 calories a day is way easier than burning 4000 calories a day. Most data I can find with a quick search suggests that you burn 400-500 calories per hour when running cross-country, so at that rate you are talking about anywhere from 8 to 10 hours of straight running? What am I missing here?
/r/PussyPassDenied14/12/16 06:09 PM

...and?
/r/PussyPassDenied14/12/16 05:56 PM

What the hell are you doing every day to burn 4000 calories? Are you saying you burn 4k in addition to whatever you burn as part of your RMR?

Actually it's more like 145-150 nowadays, nobody who knows what they're doing serves pork without some pink in it.

I'm all for expressing your beliefs man, by all means. I'm just giving you a reasonably objective outsider opinion, and also some sweet alliteration.
