There seems to be an assumption here that she's definitely one of those girls that uses faux first-dates to get free meals. But... we don't really know that just from this screencap, do we? For all we know, he was just a bad date. It's plausible that the guy was all too happy to pay at the time -- many men consider it a flex to pay. They insist. They're looking to impress, afterall. If so, then this guy is just childish about rejection. Either way, it's on him for failing to require a first-date…

Ah, I see now. The issue is that Depp didn't sue Heard for libel, but the Sun as a proxy for Heard's libel.

I still don't understand, though. How is "claiming it" different from "stating it as fact"? Oy vey.

I still don't understand why he lost the libel case. The trial proved Depp has substance abuse problems. It did not prove he ever touched Heard violently. Somehow the court decided that substance abuse = domestic violence, therefore no libel by the Sun. Britain's tendency to protect libelous tabloid media is odd.

Assuming this is real, this whole thing just makes me sad. This girl has no self-esteem.

Lop-sided alimony usually indicates its clear to the court which spouse was most responsible for the marriage's failure. If the reports on the alimony are accurate, it was Adele. The obvious assumption is that she cheated. I'm also guessing she's been honest about it with the court because other indications are that the divorce has been relatively amicable.

I've been told that the most common reason for punative, disproportionate alimony is due to one of the spouses having been unfaithful, or otherwise determined to be chiefly responsible in some way for the marriage's failure.

Some moderate misinformation in that caption -- 180-190 million was their COMBINED net-worth. I don't know how much Konecki was worth before the marriage, but I do know he came from money, and was a senior investment banker for years before leaving that professional sector to become CEO of a charity.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
