The easy answer is just to read TRP's sidebar. The hard answer is to learn psychology and economics. If you're in college and it offers Microeconomics 101 or "Money and Banking" courses they'd be a very good starting point.

If you compare the US to Europe then sure. But take a look at Asia. In some places like Korea, Taiwan and most modern Chinese cities, every server flipping your burgers-- or boiling your rice -- has college degree. Not getting into good college is the #1 cause of teenage suicide, above being bullied. But none of their college is as expensive as in the US. Imo this implies there are problems on supply side too.

To play devil's advocate and defend the university ​ What you're doing here is to provide an explanation to their behaviors, which is fine, but please don't use the word defend, as intentionally ruining someone's life is not defendable. Especially when they're a student and you're a teacher.

I personally just read about it and do it. It's something that you can practice yourself without teachers. I actually suggest against those apps because they make you focus on the music/guidance instead of the environment and yourself.

I think the real question is, if what I'm interested in is rather non-social, how should I build up my social life? For example, if I like to reading novels, but I'd rather read a book alone than discuss it. The same question goes with drawing, gaming, and other activities one can enjoy alone.
