The thing is, while you are on your truth arc, trans people are on theirs, and also have a need to speak the truth. Their body is more malleable than their mind, as it should be.

In my experience even more dominant women usually want a guy that will push back a bit and "be a man" when it matters Oh I can be a total brat.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/25 07:29 AM

I like being submissive if I feel I can trust the other person, so it takes ages to get a relationship to that point. If I'm to be a tool in your hands, it must be clear that it is you who is wielding the tool, and your responsibility alone to do so. I don't care what other men think of me. They are missing out, not me.

Yup. I hate that I have to call myself a "Liberal" on Bumble, because I despise liberals. I'm an anarchist, dammit. I will not gladly die to defend the Nazis' right to speak freely.

Also, liberal men are more honest about their political stance upfront. General dating advice to conservative men is to call themselves "apolitical" and wait until she's invested into the relationship before coming clean, best thing is you can turn a liberal, worst thing is you get to complain about being persecuted for your beliefs.

The difference is that one party is building up equity for themselves in the form of career advancement, while the other is not, and this equity cannot be redistributed as a lump sum, so it needs to be redistributed in installments, which also allows periodic reevaluation as circumstances change.

There are absolutely some people in my life that, purely by aging gracefully, cause a gradual shift in what I consider attractive. Last month one of these friends sent me a picture and she now has a few grey strands of hair, and since then I've started noticing that in other people as well.

This, except that the reason these 40 year olds cannot even get anyone half their age interested isn't so much genetics, but those aspects of looks they could actually change, but won't, because they believe that taking care of yourself and dressing well are "cheating" (in reality, they fear having to keep it up, which at least is a realistic fear).

I also severely lacked social intuition. I still do. So I went to the local self-help group, where we dress in all black, dance to weird music with morbid themes, and drink absinthe while trying not to ruin our elaborate makeup, and over time I got better at it, because it is a skill you can learn.

I just don't get the adversarial stance. One of the best dates I had was one where we decided after five minutes that it wouldn't work because we're completely incompatible, and we instead went to a club and chatted up other people together. That is, be detached from the outcome, not from the other person. Unless they suck.

What if I only realize five years later that they were also attracted to me and gave me really unambiguous signs, like one time ending a DM with a wink emoji?

If you agree with a group's goals, and the group lets you join, then you're a member of the group. Different groups handle this differently. Second wave feminists will see it as an intrusion, intersectional feminists likely welcome you. If you're cool, you can hang out with the queer kids as well, no need to be queer yourself, but if you're never there, you're obviously not a member of the group even if they have your theoretical full support. We also have rich people in the workers' union, the …

I've had too many situations in my life where I was structurally powerless and at the mercy of someone with larger resources, so I cannot understand anyone ever bringing themselves willfully into a situation where someone else needs to provide for them. I absolutely enjoy being a provider, though. I just find it very difficult to negotiate the relationship so it does not become an unhealthy and adversarial power dynamic where either someone is dependent on me, or needs to compensate the material…

There are two things you're missing: A collective good also benefits the family, often at lower cost. You can't provide as many books to your family as the town library can. Accidents happen. What happens to families losing their sole provider? If I do not share the responsibility, then all my family will ever have is what I can provide. That is less than what the collective can do, so for the good of my family I need to give up the position where I'm the irreplaceable source of all that is good…

If there is a structural issue, then it needs to be addressed by structural, not individual action, because structures counteract individual action. This applies to pretty much any topic: the answer to "if it is so bad, why don't you use all your personal resources to fix it?" has always been "because then society as a whole would do even less, and I would have expended my resources for nothing, and made the problem worse for everyone else at the same time."

"Dating" has expectations and a timeline and you go into it mostly alone. It sucks. Pretty much all the longer-lasting relationships I've seen in my circle of friends are either people who have known each other for years before they started going out, or friends of friends. If you like to take things slow, join a few clubs doing things that interest you. Have an interesting life outside a/the relationship. Protip: ballroom dancing is drama. Join if you like dancing, but it's bad for finding a pa…

How likely is it that a person can have as many options as an attractive woman does, but NONE of them align with what they want? This question, translated for redpill men: "How likely is it that a person can have as many options as a wealthy guy does, but NONE of them align with what they want?"

The bourgeoisie cosplaying as aristocrats has always been cope. If your income derives from work, there is no point in pretending you need someone to full time organize your social life, when in reality you cannot afford to throw a ball, your residence does not even have a great hall, and all your spouse does is the work of the help you cannot afford.

I read each profile. 5% are "no", like antivaxxers, born-again Christians, fake location, or posing with a sports car. 1% are "yes", because they have an interesting hobby, or indicate that they have a similar outlook on life -- the last "yes" from me was for the sentence "looking for someone who will help me renovate a house in the countryside." the rest is "can't decide." I'll swipe right but not think about them unless I get a match. So far, I've met a few people for coffee and we pretty much…

There is a lot of time left after having kids, and the only mistake you can really make is "settle down" into a sedentary lifestyle to start a family with no intention of ever getting up again and doing something with your life -- because that will become a self fulfilling prophecy and cause resentment. On the other side of the "wall", the grass is surprisingly green. Dating over forty also means no longer needing to "settle" for anything, and having experience and resources.

Individualism vs Collectivism vs Anarchism. You are proposing a collectivist approach. For this to be viable you need an enforcement mechanism that negates any advantage anyone could derive from not following your collectivist ideal, including yourself. You will find that the status quo is an enforcement mechanism of an ideal that is different from the one you are proposing. Those men who do, what some have called the "manosphere", are incredibly fringe compared to the influence of feminism. The…

So far, no one has tried that on me. The closest I got was a "can you stay here tonight so I feel safe?", and getting woken up at 2 AM with "I heard a noise, can you go and look?" and when I found nothing, "I'm way too wired to sleep now, can you do something to tire me out?" I still fell for it because I found it cute that she was trying so hard to manipulate me.

I disagree: The best course of action for anyone is to not perpetuate the personal hell they find themselves in by subjecting others to it as well. There is a hyper-competitive "community", and being part of that requires being competitive yourself. That community also claims that the entire world is like this. They need this to be the case or they would have to face that they are wasting their effort on impressing the only people who have made it their goal to never be impressed by anything, an…

I imagine they would be looking at their partner as some kind of product. From that point of view, why would they pay top dollar for an older woman? Good vintage, and rounded out really well? I mean, we're not 15 anymore, and we're not dating for the approval envy of our peers.

Yes, but my point is that the two-parent household is still failing these kids, often in worse ways because everyone expects things to be a-okay as long as there are two parents. There's no need to live in a commune (although it makes things easier), but it should be normal for kids to have lots of trusted adults in their lives and to choose role models for themselves and mix and match things they observe to form their own identity.

As an anarchist who's spent a while living in a commune I can tell you the twenty-parent household is a lot better than the two-parent household, so I'd disagree with "best." There are engaged dads out there, and more power to them, but there's also a lot of men who think that if they are at work and bring in money, all their duty is done, and their reward is to be the "cool parent" for an hour in the evening and allow all the things mom said not to do. The only thing that's better about this th…

Basically, if you are looking for a partner, offer to be a partner, and if the other person uses an antagonistic approach, they are the wrong person and you are wasting your time on them. Also, there is no conflict between being okay with who you are, and still improving yourself -- and you can also expect the same from others.

Men need to fix themselves in a different way than the grindset or bootstrapping or whatever -- because what is common to these is that it's still a nice guy "if I do enough of this thing women want then I will be rewarded" approach, and that is what is standing in your way, because you go from "I don't deserve that yet" to "I am entitled to it", and neither is attractive. The problem is the antagonistic approach. I spend a lot of my day in an antagonistic environment at work. The idea that I wa…

Jewelry exists for this exact purpose. Women owning gold and precious stones is "preparation for divorce", and has been since ancient times, and the only reason this has gone down recently is that it is now allowed in Western society for women to own other assets in their own name. That it is ubiquitous suggests that societies that did otherwise have failed.

That sounds like a low bar, but those guys are usually saying that in what they believe is opposition to the "bad boy" dude whom they think gets effortless hookups despite not being stable. Yes, but defining oneself through a negation is not a replacement for a personality. I know a lot of good people, and not one of them ever had to tell anyone about it because they could just show them. Any man who must say "I am the king" is no true king.

The thing is: the strategy is not "strong but low IQ", so rejecting this as a strategy rejects a strawman. The individual selection strategy is based on a vast number of variables that are difficult to keep track of consciously, and that include a number of random and not-so-random aspects like the gender of older siblings, because society benefits more from diversity than from everyone optimizing towards the same goal.

You are accepting a lot of premises that need to be true before your argument can be made, and you are arguing from the wrong point of view at the same time, because you're a part of the system you describe, not an unaffected outside observer. It seems obvious to me that people’s choices on who they have children with are bound to affect future generations. Evolution includes mate selection strategies. Arguing that a different strategy would be more beneficial falls flat, because if it were, tha…

People have vastly different tastes and standards and they are constantly in flux. For example, I like big butts and I cannot lie, so I suspect what is "my type" is what a large part of this sub thinks of as "overweight."
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/23 04:39 PM

It's a question of the motivation behind it: are these people doing it because they want to, or only to fulfill someone else's criteria -- because the latter is precisely that insecurity. That is also what makes the more "extreme" forms of these behaviour patterns good signals for insecurity -- if you are competent at repairing things you also know when it's better to not touch it and ask someone else, but someone who believes that the only way to be seen as a man is to take things apart and nev…

So a man who can repair broken machinery, lift heavy weights, and move a ball ten yards down a field is a deeply insecure person? If that person has achieved all these things only to be finally recognized as a man, then yes, that is deeply insecure. Any man who must say "I am the king" is no true king.

It has to do with the caricature of masculinity that men are expected to perform. Accurately defining masculinity is difficult, so people focus on a short checklist, and if there are enough marks, then something is "masculine." Others who aim to be "masculine", then take that checklist, select a few things that are achievable for them, and set out to do that. That's why I use the word "caricature" -- the result you get is something that places emphasis on a few recognizable traits, but if you lo…

These aren't traditional archetypes, but a caricature of them, because the purpose has been lost, and all that's left is a hyperfixation on some superficial and easily observable elements of these archetypes. If there was still a purpose behind them, then there would be no need to consciously "revive" them, that would happen on its own.

Cant talk about bluepillers but RPers are filled with engineers. They are trained in this kind of thinking. Use a generalized concept and fine tune it according to application. That's just a technician though, not an engineer. An engineer would also verify that their approach fits the problem. The "engineering" mindset is all about problem spaces that can be observed and manipulated from outside, and that have a controllable number of variables -- this is what makes things testable and verifiabl…

No, I'm talking more about the conservative takes that the 1950ies were somehow a better time. From an individual perspective, "youthful romance" is just being unable to communicate clearly and instead relying on gestures that have a little bit of plausible deniability built-in in case it's not reciprocated. The reason you shouldn't strive for it in your thirties is not that it's becomes unattainable as you're getting old, but that you should be able to do better by then.
