I tried to be consistent over anything else. Even if I didn't want to go to the gym I would go in and just do like 1 exercise this made sure I kept the positive habit. And i only did a workout plan that I could manage so I didn't burn out. Also there is a wicked book called the power of habit. I used that reasoning a lot. Set yourself positive habits. Go to the gym at 6pm every day, eat at the same time and same place every day. Before you know it it just becomes normal

I was on 60mg of fluoexetine for a while and after making the positive changes I have been off my meds for about 6 months now. I feel like the curtains have been lifted and i can see outside again. I had this problem for a long time after my separation. I would be tired but as soon as I turned the lights off I would be wide awake again missing her. I got around this by getting a night light. It sounds childish but it really helped. It was almost like I was never actually going to bed, just having a nap. The routine of a couple going to bed together is very hard to break and by tricking myself into not undergoing the routine without her helped. Not sure if this makes sense.
