I have to be honest, these comments have been very helpful so far. Thanks for sharing your perspectives, gents, and do keep them coming if you've more.

Thanks. Think I have a grasp of the essence of your advice, though it could have been phrased more constructively.

But what practical steps did you take/ are you taking to move on?

Hope you don't mind me asking, but why do you still have to see her?

Mind giving me an example of what throwing herself at me would look like in the workplace? Just so I know the difference between that and what she does - which I suspect falls under the "friendly"/ "really enjoys working with you" bracket. I reckon I am desperate and have a strong scarcity mindset but, to be fair (and of course I'd say this!), she's pretty damn hot. Unicorn? No. Hot? Yes.

Thanks man. I'm definitely keen to avoid shitting where I eat, but emotions always stand in the way of reason. I can't switch seats because I am the most senior person on our block - so I supervise her and others here. In any case, there are 13 of us in the office, so it's pretty hard to avoid people. We don't work in teams because the firm wants everyone to be M&A generalists, not specialists. Can't disclose the name of the firm, of course, but we're in the professional (client) services space.

I would also add Elliot Hulse to that list.

Sure, but who the fuck cares? He pumped and dumped. Didn't catch feelings. Has his eyes wide open to the truth and reality. That's what really matters at the end of the day.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
