Giving gifts to teachers can be seen as a bribe for better grades. Teachers giving gifts to one student rather than the whole class creates favorites. It also gives an assumption that he is getting something from the student in return. If teachers want to give something extra to students, then it should be based on merit and open to everyone.

With gifts it is assumed that he is getting something in return. If it was her giving him money, it could been seen as the student buying her grade. Teachers just can't accept flashy gifts nor give gifts.

This is a good point. I was thinking it was excessive that he hit them on the ground. You even see his co-worker put his hand over the guy's rod to suggest that he should stop hitting. If it was really excessive, tough, I'd expect his co-worker to stop him much earlier. The injuries they suffered aren't very relevant I think. That guy was trying to subdue them quickly and I'm sure at the moment he wasn't thinking "I need to break bones!" This wasn't a situation where you have the luxury of resol…

I'm saying that the abortion is being considered by her. Can the man say, "don't abort it, because I will take care of it" i.e. the only reason she would not want to have the baby. And adoption, yes.

What about in the case where maybe she doesn't want a child, but is willing to go through pregnancy? Could the man say, "hey, I'll take that off your hands," rather than her getting an abortion?

If the commenters are going to speculate about the father being abusive and cruel, i think it's only fair to speculate about the mother. It seems like that baby was adopted rather quickly. I feel like when you ask ladies about what it means to be a gentleman or chivalrous, 9/10 times the first thing that they'll think to say will be something about opening doors for them. As if being a good guy really boils down to that moment when he and a lady are moving between rooms and everything else is an afterthought.

Nice idea. What sort of stuff would this group do? How about instead of a slut walk you organize a pimp walk? if a person commits rape at the age of 17, s/he should still be on the registry. I don't think "being young and stupid" is a valid excuse for sexual violence. I don't think anyone is arguing otherwise. If anyone actually bothered to read this short article, the writer addressed a particular case where two boys got put on the list for when they "sat on some other kids' heads", an offence that is best handled with a "hey, knock it off and say you're sorry". But now these kids are going to be punis…

The point that this image is trying to make is that we should care just as much about prisoners being raped as we do with non-prisoners. It's not cool to think that just because they are in jail, means that sexual abuse should be apart of the punishment.

I recall hearing somewhere else on reddit that for some places in America this is a standard question too, but they ask it of men and women. The goal in this case, being that the hospital is looking to catch domestic abuse going in either direction.

Taken from a different article on the same story Dale Jones, father of one of the girls, said that while he welcomed the arrest,he was concerned that a disorderly conduct charge was not serious enough of a response for a “very serious offense that affected many people.” Still, he said, “I’m gratified that the investigation continued, and that charges are being filed. Men can handle their drink. Don't you know that? Here's a different story: Jasmin threatens Damian that she will run him over and shows immediate intent. Damian punches her out, saving his own life. Damian is now a scum-of-the-earth woman-beater.

Well put. We can compare how well she got off if you compare her situation to a drug offender, but people who get convicted for drugs deal with mandatory sentencing. Cherry-picking this case to highlight the differences between how men and women are treated is nowhere near as effective as restructuring the criminal justice system. We certainly need to send fewer people to jail for minor offences, and not keep them there as long (as in instances with possession).

Also, keep in mind that a lot of sexual offenders (the kind that are clearly guilty) have been victims of sexual abuse when they were younger. To just kill off the sexual offenders does nothing to address the psychological issues that they struggle with and have perpetuated. Years down the road, the victim of the initial offender might abuse someone sexually as a result of their developed mental condition. It just doesn't seem right to fix this issue with killing. As a society, we should want to…

A strike of equal force against her, however, would not have been tolerated by the network though. The big general term, "violence against women" makes it sound like any aggression against women is never acceptable. Then we have J-Wow using her full strength to hit Mike. My issue is that it sends a message that whenever a woman hits a man, he should just sit there and take it. The whole scene played out like a domestic disturbance.

I don't see how you expect a website with the tagline "Celebrity, sex, fashion for women" to be worldly [or held to the same journalistic standard] like CNN or some other news outlet. Here's another thought. If the military doesn't allow openly gay people to serve, shouldn't there be a box to check regarding sexuality on the service papers? [] Check here if you are openly gay. Or is the message that gays have no place in the army, unless Uncle Sam really, really needs you?

Can you link to that? It was a lot to read and I mostly read the one guy's comments. It doesn't matter that he get's "owned", because I think he brings up some legitimacy for a sort of affirmative action. Here, for example. I kinda grouped cursing/dirtytalk together as an example of something that can be innocent mistakes. I am not a man of the law, nor do I claim to have knowledge of the legal process. Two people should come to agreements on conditions regarding their sex acts. We can disagree about what is "morally right and wrong", and I agree that it is morally wrong to lie about being on th pill. When the law is concerned, we have to go by their definitions and standards. Equality is all well and good, but I find it hard to say that in sex is a place where we can have the same set of expectations from men and women. In a perfectly equal world, both men and women would take an oral contraceptive and have a condom on. Two condoms is silly, they would of course break. So now only men must wear a condom, or only the female must wear the female condom. A better compromise is for the man to have a condom and the woman to have a cervical cap, or alternate between male a…

I think were closing in on an agreement. In your example of conditions, these; lights out Tuesday night until 10 pm failure to meet conditions requires a full stop are all gender neutral. It is very easy to say, "person A did not meet person B's conditions, therefore it was assault." When we start talking about birth control and condoms, those are gender specific and there's no way around it. That's when person A and person B become the Man and the Woman who each have their own specific conditio…

But I believe the destructive nature of feminism has its roots in the destructive nature of the female. Wow, just wow. When the genders are reversed, the sexist in all of us imagine a burly man whaling on a defenseless, dainty lady. If this did happen with a man making such a challenge, the woman would certainly be tough as nail. And I'm not saying that a kick-ass woman can't be a dainty lady either. tl;dr - this would make a great, trashy tv show
