this sounds like a male fantasy of competition and hierarchical dominance to me more than it sounds like anything a woman would say

what does “popular demand” mean to you

how does the guy know he wants to marry her if they have never dated? this is such a weird fictional scenario
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/20 06:24 AM
6

when you say “guys who want to marry her” do you mean guys who would, theoretically, marry her? or guys who have actually dated and proposed to her

look lady, real men can file at least 7 corporations before lunch, it’s called a work ethic

But the idea that men are out there at age 25 like “baby please let’s get married” while the woman is going “hell no I still want to sleep around” just does not line up with anything I have ever seen in my life. every couple I know, the woman wanted to get married way before the guy was ready

this idea that women are finally deciding to settle down after sowing their wild oats presumes that they’re constantly getting marriage proposals throughout their 20s. since most men in their 20s are not in a hurry to get married I find this hard to believe

I don’t think we are talking about the same thing.

I mean that this behavior would not be liked, no matter whether it was natural or learned
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/20 02:50 AM

but the issue in that scenario is not whether the behavior is “natural” or “learned,” it’s that the behavior is bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/20 02:28 AM

the most charitable reading I can put on this post is that “natural” men are portrayed positively in media, just like “effortless” beauty in women is a trope in fiction. when it comes to a real-life interpersonal context I don’t understand how the conversation even arises. is the guy saying “just so you know, I learned this tactic from a book”?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/20 02:21 AM

how would a woman know whether a guy is a natural or not?

it’s going bad! thanks for asking

sorry, I thought I did answer. I choose to solve climate change. if that’s not an option I choose time travel. What power do you choose

very interesting! your wife is a good sport

I guess I’d fix climate change, but I would selfishly want to choose time travel. Can we do an experiment? Can you ask your wife the question with no story now — just “what does power mean for women?” — and see what she says?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/20 05:35 AM

you put it into a story for her? what was the story?

What does power mean to women?

can you give me a real example of an argument with your gf/family in which you have used “credited sources” from things you’ve learned? unless you are actually arguing with these people about whether the earth is flat, in which case we are talking about different things whether the earth is round is an empirically verifiable question of fact. arguments between couples (in my experience) are mostly essentially moral arguments about what is fair, and how people should treat each other. “credited s…

I have heard of such people, but I don’t understand why all of the knowledge they’ve absorbed would necessarily be relevant to domestic arguments

I see. This has been interesting, thank you

but how is any of that Jeopardy stuff relevant to fights with your girlfriend? are you two fighting about shit like “Places Starting with C”?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/20 06:21 AM

but how do you do the research you will be relying on in the argument before the argument happens?

For example, if a woman says, "Don't do this thing/leave that thing there because..." and I say, "That's actually not true, they did a study. is this something you genuinely believe, or just something you say to make your position sound more authoritative or something

Is there an accepted type of “not like the other girls”? Like does it mean unlike other girls in a particular way? It seems like you could be weird/different in myriad ways and some would be good but others would be bad. not trying to be obtuse but surely there are multiple types of differentness

so it is de facto legal, you mean? this makes sense. I should read OP’s post more charitably
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/19 11:25 PM

yeah of course, but crimes don’t get codified into law unless there’s some sort of consensus that they are bad
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/19 06:07 AM

it indicates that violence and brute force have been subordinated to some other system of power or order, to the extent that violence is monopolized by, and serves, that system, rather than being self-justifying?

I really want an answer to this people seem to think that everything before the 19th century was just beating people up and taking their stuff, like straight law of the jungle rape has been illegal for millennia I don’t know where they are getting this idea

Don’t you mean the “in-something (forgot what it’s called)”? Disingenuous sealioning
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/19 07:34 AM

don’t you see the contradiction here? you initially affirm that it goes by physical strength, which is why only fit young men are first-class citizens But then you go on to describe power as being a “class” attribute — a social order in which power is allocated by birth not gender, fitness, or strength. And you even include men in your list of powerless people, which would strongly suggest that whatever ur-form of society you’re imagining does not favor men as a gender
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/19 06:11 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
