What a cruel way to answer. Many people simply don't know better for a long time. She ended up in the right spot despite the whole mainstream being set up against her and realized her mistakes. I do agree with the advice on moving on. But there's kinder ways to convey that and without coming across as almost satisfied by her failure.

I was under the assumption that all advice in this sub reddit is given with monogamy as the baseline goal. It does take me by surprise that this apparently is not the case. I'll readjust my expectations moving on. But to answer your question (and I'll stop after that) I generally do not believe that polygamy works in the best interest of a woman. Giving advice on how to sustain a relationship of that kind does therefore, in my eyes, harm even if the intent is good. In this case specifically it s…

It’s an unpopular stance on here and I’ll probably get downvoted for saying so. But if he can’t provide the lifestyle you want (and worked hard to be able to provide for yourself!) it will make you bitter to be stuck under your potential. It would make me. I want someone who can offer more to me than I can to myself. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to respect him and would eventually grow resentful. You’re still young. As the other commentator said: Don’t fall prey to the sunk cost fallacy.

Anything that steps out of the mainstream. The amount of subs I was banned from for being in r/lockdownscepticism and r/JordanPeterson even was just mind-boggling to me. Eye opening too. Changed my outlook onto people.

Because femininity is a state of being while masculinity is doing and doing creates results which is more concrete than being that is mysterious in and of itself. You gave me food for thought!

Makes me think of Camille Paglia‘s take in Sexual Personae. There she argues that men have to become men whereas women are born women. To that trail of thought I‘d add that we as women are now taught to be men as well which is why we end up having to become, or rather relearn being women.

Even if it was fixable. According to the Surrendered Single, at least how I understood it, you‘re not supposed to pin point to physical things you‘d like him to improve on. I was facing that problem with the last man I dated. He checked pretty much every box but had a major hygiene issue that really bothered me. The whole thing fell apart after four dates for other reason. But what if they hadn‘t? How do you address things like that?

I find the other comments to be too deterministic. If you bump into each other and you engage joyfully in the conversation, demonstrate an openness to see him intentionally too and go along with the narrative that you declined him for the wrong timing and made something out of yourself in the mean time I‘m very optimistic. Keep your head up, be well groomed and dressed and smile. He seems like a good guy!

Going to the gym I see seemingly so many more attractive men. I gave it some thought and all they have in common is a basic effort they put into their appearance and a masculine body from working out. Add some charisma and you‘re good to go.

So women are expected to work, do the household, raise the kids, dress up, put on make up and on top of that to be sweet and lovingly feminine? You can‘t do it all and not lose your shit somewhere along the line.

I‘m in the same boat and as I see it it isn‘t clever to disclose neither of both early in the relationship. I‘m rather bubbly and open so I did before and it never worked to my advantage. There are too many negative preconceptions and it’ll be easy for them to drop you because they aren‘t emotionally invested in you yet. Once they are it won‘t be such a big issue because they‘ll know you‘re worth the wait.

There‘s Helena Hart, a feminine energy youtuber. She was very ill for a while, only able to walk on crutches. In a video I watched, probably more than a year ago, she talked about the experience. How she had thought it would make her less appealing. What she experienced, however, was very different. I remember her talking about how men were going out of their way to help her and her sharing how pleasantly surprised she was by the reality.

I understand your sentiment. But it isn‘t socially crippling. I‘m 23 and didn‘t have a phone til I was in high school and only used Insta for a bit to show my art of. I don‘t even have Whatsapp at the moment and consider buying a dumb phone to get rid of all the unnecessary distraction that comes from social media in general. I‘m not as young as OP. I feel you, girl. I got tinnitus. For attending a concert of an utterly shallow left wing band’s concert when I was still young. One little thing messes with your life and you’re standing in front of a seemingly tainted future. But well, that’s life. Bear it. Most people now and in the span of history got it worse. People don’t like hearing that, argue it’s bad reasoning. But I don’t think it is. We’re human. Humans survived worse. You are human. So you‘ll survive this. You’re stronger than you …

I have a problem with this attitude. (I‘m not trying to convince you I‘m just sharing my two cents) In my opinion, looking at it from this perspective we give away our responsibility. „It wasn‘t meant to be“ is how I tried to console myself over a loss that was completely due to my bad actions. With „it wasn‘t meant to be“ we don‘t own up to the mistakes that we made that led to an unfavourable outcome, blaming destiny or the universe when it was us who messed up. OP made bad choices (driving th…

A study, research it if you want to know more, got the results that writing about a traumatic experience for 15 min three days in a row elevated the pain of remembering them. A woman, JBP talked about her, worked a big chuck of her life with women who were raped trying to find out what it was would help them recover from the …

Because your youth, as a woman, is your biggest asset. Wasting all of it on one man without the guarantee that he‘ll marry you is naive. When he drops you, or you drop him, you very well might be worse of than you were before you started dating him.

Don‘t marry potential. Always assume a man stays just the same as he is when you met him. If you don‘t see yourself marrying him in that state then don‘t. If you know you don‘t want to marry him and stay with him anyways you‘re wasting your youth, which is more precious than his.

You don‘t have to be. The commentator made a good point. He lost your respect by the way he acted. Once someone lost your respect it‘s unlikely for them to gain it back. I don‘t think the lack of opportunity to have an adult talk about adult feelings is the problem but rather the fact that he doesn‘t seem to be able to stay calm and express himself reasonably. If he gets petty and start screaming I understand why OP (maybe even subconsciously) chose the public to bring it up again, so he‘d have to control his temper.

Non-Catholics don‘t believe in the actual presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The moment you say amen before receiving it you agree to this stance, which is contrary to most Non-Catholic Christians‘ beliefs. This is a holy Sacrament to us and just taking it by the way without much thought is indeed offensive.

That’s not the type of relationship I’m looking for or am able to participate in in a way that would be satisfactory to a man who would want this. I need a partner who initiates. Especially in the courting process. If he already can’t or doesn’t want to after the very first date we aren’t a match, which is exactly why I unmatched.

It‘s the combination with the fact that he didn‘t ask for my number and never said he would like to see me again. I don‘t feel comfortable with a man who leaves me in uncertainty for so long. A big game changer for me was The Seductress by Betsy Prioleau. Can‘t recommend this book enough. Check out femininity coaches like Candace Oneida, Helena Heart and Adrienne Everheart. They helped me a lot. What it comes down to, from what I gathered, is resting in your body and trusting the process without actively pursuing a goal, which leads to (masculine) overthinking. Going with the flow basically, and trusting that you‘ll end up in a good place and all will be fine.

In the end it’s (at least for me) about developing trust in God and the process and being willing to loose them even if I love them. Easier said than done. But practice makes perfect. Wish you all the best:)

Make a list of all his negative attributes. Unbelievably snobbish, but effective. Jot down all the lessons the situation taught you and be happy you learnt at such a young age. Stick to your newly formed boundaries, don’t make exceptions and live on. You’re still young and you’re already on the right track. Many women join much later.

With the amount of time I spend into presenting as my best on the date, him paying for it is what I expect. I don’t even offer paying half. I want a traditional marriage, a traditional courting process serves as a foundation for that. None of the men I dated had a problem with it. On the contrary, they seemed to quite enjoy it. In regards to other peoples opinions I made the same experience as you, which led me to shut up and walk in silence. It‘s none of their business so don‘t bring it up. You…

I wonder if it’ll seem like I have low standards if we’re meeting up so casually. I want dinner dates to be the norm and am unsure if I can insist on having one on the first date to set my expectations.

The curly girl method helped a lot. Also in accepting my hair the way it is. Curly hair is stubborn. You never really know what you‘ll get. The way I look at it now is that I make the best out of it and forgive myself if it doesn‘t look as neat as I‘d maybe like it to be. If you‘re well groomed and polished in all other regards it serves as a twist of personality. An approach french women take.

Kelly Stamps once said:”It’s not your job to explain to a morron that he is a morron.” And while the words she uses are a bit harsh the core of the arrgument stuck with me and saved me from many unnecessary disscusions. People usually have their minds fixed. It’s very seldom that you find someone truly open to the possibility of having their mind changed. In most cases it’s best to just let it be. I know it hurts when you care about them but people often need to learn by themselves.

Well, I made it through a four hour date sitting at a table across from him. When walking me home he initiated body contact, wanted to lay his arm around me, pulled back when he sensed that I didn‘t want to, offered his hand instead and accepted that I didn’t take it. On paper the whole evening was great. I enjoyed the conversation but I didn‘t want to be physical which I usually do when I fancy a man.

Same can be said about Midwest. Nothing leading to assume that she’s a racist. On the contrary. Her content is pretty inclusive. Again, I don’t like or watch her. But I also don’t like calling someone as racist without any clear evidence. Not an attack on you btw. Just a my general opinion.

Although I am a Christian myself both of them give off a weird vibe to me. InnerBeautyTV by Nicole Michelle seems much more genuine and to the point. Also less self-centred if you know what I mean. Mrs. Midwest’s intros just never fail to make me cringe.

And Chrissie for that matter. I love black women‘s approach to femininity. They take marrying well to a whole new level and aren‘t delusional when it comes to the importance of finances in marriage and the raising of kids. SheraSeven1 is the most notorious one and I admire her for how unapologetic she is.

Yes, I see. The whole hypergamy discussion. I used to like School of Affluence for it. But she watered down her content to basic stuff like fashion and make up in order to still sell her classes in which apparently she’s teaching the real deal. Which is a pity. She used to be refreshing before her blow up. Now she little more than mainstream elegance youtubers which we have a dime a dozen.

Learn to be comfortable in silence. Lean back and relax your body. Enjoy the moment and let it unfold. I always thought I‘m responsible to keep the conversation going, feeling I had to prove myself. I figured it’s quite the opposite. Men like mystery and they like the conversational pursuit of getting to know you. I ruined a lot by being too chatty out of nervousness.

You basically write down what you want to be, figure out the steps you need to take to reach your goal and stick to the plan. Journaling helps a lot to reflect on the process and to keep track of the lessons you learn on the way. Use people around you or in media as inspiration. Why do you respect that person at school? What are the qualities you admire in your favourite movie character? Write down what you look up to and figure out what it takes to implement it into your character. With discipl…

For the facial bone structure: do some research on mewing. The before and after pics are amazing. If you start now you‘ll look much better by the time looks really start to matter. Concerning self-image: I used to utterly hate myself. Now I‘m 21 and like a new person. Things can change and they do if you put some effort into it. Also search Jordan Peterson on YouTube. Thank you for your reply! This the first time I post. I’m giving my best. Hypergamy as I thought it was defined would mean that I marry a guy who earns more than me. I manly used the word to shorten the title of the post. I just want to be able to stay at home and take care of the kids. I’m working hard on making the best out of myself. In every way. If this won’t be enough I at least want to know I tried. I’m not excluding the possibility of marrying a person of my faith. It would be cool if it…

haha oh well, I guess I‘m a bit defensive when it comes to my decision to wait till marriage. People usually immediately conclude it’s because of me being religious. A conclusion I understand. Religious reasoning however maybe makes up a third of the arguments that lead to my choice. Therefore I don’t like getting all caught up in a religious debate. But be assured my question was genuine:) Thank you for contributing to the post!

Thank you for your answer:) I personally am religious. But not to an extent that I insist on marrying someone who is as well. I’d prefer experiences of women who got married to none or not exceptionally religious guys. As they are the majority and the ones I think who’d usually have a harder time to swallow the fact.

I’m totally aware that a good man (well, any human really) is a whole person with all the aspects you’ve mentioned above. I thought that was a given. Also I never said wealth was my only standard. As I see it there isn’t much commitment but marriage. Everything else I know of are promises and pretty words that don’t mean a thing as soon someone changes their mind. Check out feminine energy coaches on youtube. They help me a lot. Some of my favourites are Adrienne Everheart, Helena Hart, Nicole Michelle and SheraSeven1. The latter is very much focused on hypergamy and might be a bit blunt in some of her views. But she taught me quite a bit. Take what you can and leave the rest:) Edit: Also I would focus on men outside of college, who are older. At least that‘s what I (21) do.
