| 3 | Found this today – I'm appalled.Not in the legal sense. The Sexual Offences Act specifies that the offence of rape requires penile penetration. There is another offence in section 2 of the act called 'assault by penetration' which covers all other types of penetrative sexual offences and comes with the same maximum sentence as rape.
