Weird because I found a lot of contempt for black Americans in Africa, though I haven’t been to Kenya specifically. Just SA, Sudan, Morocco, and Tunisia, but I heard the same sentiments all over those places. I bet you would be a smash hit in Western Europe, though. Especially France.

It honestly seems more like you are projecting, what with all the random anecdotal evidence. I think both of you are actually saying very similar things, except for some reason you are being more combative about it?

Republicans don’t really believe in the sanctities of marriage any more than democrats judging by the list of US politicians involved in sex scandals. Seems like everyone is doing pretty abysmally, but maybe republicans even more so? Even still I think you’re correct that republicans are happy just being married, even if the marriage itself sucks by other peoples standards.

And then also wanting us to believe that he’s so rich these women will sacrifice their dignity for him, but not rich enough that there would be someone in the house to make lunch? No home chef or even a nanny? Like what would be the draw of being so rich if you were still laboring in the house like a servant?

I mean take a step back - you want us to believe a scenario where multiple wives all go into the kitchen and each produce one sandwich, instead of one person just going to make them? And that all the other wives found the correct ingredients but nobody could help the one who couldn’t? They also aren’t his wives if he lives in the US, so forgive me for being unable to separate the factual inconsistencies from the outright lies

So in your own tale, which part stood out to you as your uncle giving his wife a lot of support?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/23 02:13 PM
11

While I agree that the story 10,000% never took place, we didn’t really learn whether the uncle was strong or weak. We learned the wives are certainly broken, but he could be a physically weak emotional abuser. OP isn’t specific there. I personally do find it weak-minded to need to take rage out on other people, so in that sense I believe him to be weak. Further I’d argue that he is pathetic in the sense that he is a pathetic excuse for a made up uncle

Right? Flava Flav had a dating show
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 08:01 PM

Dude, people with autism and anxiety and depression are still out there dating. I’ve seen quite a few people even leading with their autism on the apps and it personally would not scare me away. I myself treat anxiety and adhd with both therapy and a prescription, and would never judge someone for doing the same. HOWEVER it’s your responsibility to treat your mental illness. If I were in unmedicated and acting super anxious and creeped someone out when I was trying to make conversation, that wou…

That’s not even what I’m saying. I’m just not going to take for granted that everyone wants the same thing sexually (even if they all purport to be “straight women”) unless I’m getting active consent. You never know where someone’s trauma lies
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 12:12 PM

You can neg me all you want, but I already know I’m above average based on the way the world interacts with me :) My chubby boyfie was a pro athlete so I’m still reeling in catches, but nice cope.

How was a mirror held up to women’s behavior? What does that even mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 02:46 AM

No I quite like it, I just don’t think it’s safe to assume everyone straight woman is into the same things, and saying love is obviously quite extreme.

Okay, well I went back and read it and it was about as stupid as I had assumed. Here we go: What yes/no question did you ask? People say things to me all the time, attractive or not. The idea that a man would be approaching a woman in the grocery store to say something innocent like “where did you find those?” and she would flat out shut him down before he even got a word out is fantasy. What these men want to do is be able to walk up to any woman, say something lazy yet sexually suggestive, and…

I don’t think that tracks with history, because it ignores that gays had to fight so hard for gay spaces. For years it was so dangerous so be gay, a gay man could never just cold approach his teller at the bank. It was in gay spaces that you could freely and openly hit on other men because there was already that level of certainty.

I don’t have any gen z friends in fact. I’m well into my 30s, and dating now after being with the same partner for the last decade. Nobody had asked me my body count before, just how nobody asks me now. Are you potentially the one bringing it up? I would find it socially reprehensible if someone kept bringing up how many people they had sex with, regardless of the number.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 04:21 AM

What you wrote could absolutely be read as a false dichotomy, and then you come down on me for your own lack of clarity? I don’t appreciate it, but ok. I do get the point you’re making. People out in the real world actually do not associate “n-count” with uncleanliness, or if they do who would even know? People outside Reddit don’t talk about it whatsoever. Maybe high school children? It has literally never once come up in my dating history, and it doesn’t even come up in girl talk as much as I’…

The opposite of giving good head is not being unpresentable in public - it’s giving bad head. A lot of people on this sub (men and women) treat people with higher numbers of partners like they are somehow physically gross or physically unkempt. Unless we are talking about literal sex workers, most people are getting sexual partners by being clean and presentable in public, and charismatic. I think a lot of this argument has to do with where someone is in their life, too. In my mid 30s, I’d be wa…

I won’t characterize my exes as assholes, since I think they deserve a little more respect, but I’m pretty confident by your response that you very much understand their type. What you said about choosing what is most important to me is almost exactly what I said to my most recent ex when I gave him the ring back. Something about LA poisons the mind and makes you think everyone needs fancy things to be happy, so I’ll give some serious consideration to your advice. Anyway, I appreciate your comme…

Because I did not care so much, but I can see now how my first comment can be read that way. They just didn’t seem to care about my politics whatsoever, so me caring at all was more by default. I am in also in a place where being conservative is also social suicide in most circles (LA). The thing is, it’s only true until you get to the finance sector, and then I swear they are all either open or closeted republicans. I was having a very serious convo the other week about the ethics of dating fin…

I think I am pretty similar to you, which is how I have usually found myself partnered with conservative men in the very liberal cities I have lived in. My exes have been conservative interpersonally in the way you describe, but also in the way that they vote “R” straight down the ticket.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/22 10:21 PM

I have been literally proposed to by two conservative men, so my personal experience has been the opposite. Weirdly, they don’t seem to care about my politics nearly as much as I care about theirs.

Mhmm. Except that as a woman, I am definitely chill with it. I do feel for you guys, don’t get me wrong, but to be candid I like that I can pretty much have my cake and eat it too 😎

Yes exactly!! It’s not a popular opinion yet, but the system is currently set up in favor of women. I believe the future is literally female and would bet money on it. That is why I don’t see the traditional role of male breadwinner coming back anytime soon. And while I don’t want kids, if I had them I would pray they come out daughters so they have an advantage in life. Edited typos

I think that is highly unlikely unless somehow it becomes possible to support a household on a single income again. Despite what these women may want, it’s just not going to happen. My fiancé is a high earner (200k+) and while we could pay out bills with his salary alone, we would never be able to save enough money to buy a house or build real wealth. So thankfully I have a great job too, and it goes almost entirely to our savings. I also think there will be a growing pay gap between men and wom…

I hear you, but I truly don’t think your average 25 year old with forehead creases looks like a 40 year old unless they have had multiple kids already. I don’t have or want kids, which I think is the real advantage I have on other people my age. The stress of raising kids is literally written all over people’s faces.

People who are in their teens and twenties can also be wildly incorrect about what 30 looks like. Anecdote: working a retail job, one of my coworkers is helping a client style vacation outfits. She tells me, “I don’t know what she’s looking for, she’s in her 30s and going to Greece.” At the time I was 30 and I like vacations, so I went to go find the customer to see if I could help gather some info. My coworker point me to the lady, and she is EASILY in her early 50s

That second link is saying that 27% of men had specifically not had sex with a female partner since turning 18, and so to use that number as a proxy for virginity would be wrongly including homosexual males as virgins
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/22 03:29 AM

Ok, but the counterpoint to that is that if men wore light, casual makeup, they would not be as easily tricked by a 4 or 6 in makeup. When I see someone with layers of contour and hi-light on in the daytime, I am not fooled into thinking their face looks like that. My fiancé can look at that same woman and think she looks natural, which just belies his own lack of experience with cosmetics.

Dude - at no point would the full 20 inches of baby be chilling in the vagina. It passes through on its way out, but please don’t think you can fit a whole 9 month old baby in just the v. It would not work.

I don’t think “iirc” is good enough when you are throwing out percentages. Again, I tried to find sources for your claims and couldn’t. The closest I found were studies from the 90s that said lesbians are abusive at about the same rate as heterosexual men (notably less than both gay men and heterosexual women)

I don’t know where you’re getting that info specifically, but it seems to ignore the difference between violence brought by men and violence brought by women. Women experience higher rates of repeated victimization and injury (Walby & Towers, 2017; Walby & Allen, 2004) and are more likely to be murdered by their parters. The CDC states almost half of female homicides are killed by a current or former intimate partner, while about 5% of men are killed by an intimate partner (Cooper & Smith, 2001)…

I don’t know a single example of anyone living a scenario remotely like #2, let alone most women? I do know someone who has a pretty wealthy ex husband who cheated on her a ton, so while she was definitely sharing him with other women, she would certainly not have been his “concubine” and now has absolutely 0 contact with him. He’s not great with their kids, either. I would actually say he’s extremely low value outside his ability to generate income.

That was honestly a perfect comment full of suggestions for you to try and you didn’t want to do any of it!! It definitely sounds like the problem is your attitude and general lack of effort. Yeah, plus the men here sound crazy about what qualifies as being led on. Things like wearing yoga pants in public? Being nice to someone? Like dude you are not being led on, a girl is just trying to live her normal life

If someone is not talking or interacting with you in any way, they are not leading you on. You can’t get all twisted up just because someone is wearing tight pants or you’re gonna go crazy, especially if you live by a gym?? It sounds like you just need to relax
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/22 01:33 PM

Dude. Yoga pants are perfectly normal exercise clothing. If someone can’t work out without “leading you on” because you can’t stop staring at their crotch, the problem is definitely you

Ok, this is great! Honestly I think you’re the exact kind of dude the original question is posed toward. I’d love to know if you even want to find a female partner at any point? Or do you recognize it will probably only bring you misery? Or do you already have one???? (if so, is she ok?)

My partner looks so much like Ryan Reynolds that people would stop me in LA (pre pandemic obviously) and whisper-ask me if that was Ryan Reynolds. In this scenario of assumptions, I guess I’m cast as Ryan’s assistant or something? He’s definitely in the top 20% looks wise and I’m probably not, but he is also pretty shy and relies on me for a lot socially. We click on lots of other levels too, but it doesn’t hurt that he’s easily the most handsome man I’ve dated.

I think poor socialization has something to do with it, too, not necessarily just low class. Sometimes at work I see a mail order bride scenario, and 100% of the time the dude is awkward AF and unable to even sustain eye contact with me. I’d say that men who suffer from their own shame and inadequacy are likely to prey on uneducated women. But yeah otherwise I totally agree with your sentiment. Bananas to think educated men prefer uneducated women.

When you look around at high value men in our society - actors, hedge fund managers, politicians - you can see they choose partners based entirely on social status. They would choose similarly HVW, women who have industry connections, successful careers, wealthy families, or something that contributes meaningfully to the relationship. They aren’t looking for a Pentecostal child bride who wears turtlenecks under her dresses. Virginity is not a real consideration for most people, especially men th…

Dude, you’re 45 days late to the convo, but the reason that is matters is the implications of a double standard. I honestly believe any gender can have a promiscuous youth and find happiness later in life, but many men on this forum like to perpetuate a myth that HVM want virgins.

Rich people in general are a small percentage of the population. Why would they be more likely to be 33 than 23? Ten years of salary work does not bump someone into a new socioeconomic bracket

Why do people have the idea that high value men want religious virgins? I’m a woman in my 30s and the reality I know is one where my most religious college friends got married right out of the gate and now they live in random Midwestern suburbs with their chubby husbands and brood of babies. They work “jobs” hawking oils or natural cosmetics on Instagram. Shit seems bleak. Mm, I dunno. I think this is actually a way most women can have their cake and eat it too. You can have high expectations for a partner, be monogamously committed to your partner when you’re in the relationship, and engage in casual sex between relationships. It will never even come up in conversation. Most men ask about past relationships, if anything - as a 31 year old woman, literally nobody has ever asked me my n-count other than my female friends and this was when we were just out of colleg…

I love my stepfather. He had his own kids from a previous marriage to a dangerous bipolar hag and never any biological kids with my mom, but always treated me the same. Even my biological dad likes him, he’s truly such a nice guy. I can see why men without kids wouldn’t date single moms, but I think people also forget there are single dads out there

Yeah, agreed. My partner and I have been living together for 7 years and aren’t married mostly because we can’t afford a wedding and don’t have parents we can ask for money. Since COVID, I’ve been unemployed so we finally decided to just do a courthouse union so I could go on his health plan. We haven’t told our families because we basically just did it to make some paperwork easier, and I still lump myself in with the group not wanting marriage because we do not want kids.

Hi, this is my first time posting here so I’m sorry if this breaks any rules. I just wanted to add that the narrative of women playing home-wrecker completely conflicts with my personal experience. Twice in my dating days I found myself caught up with married men, and in both cases they had lied about having wives. One relationship was very casual and one went on for months before I found out. These were not lies of omission, mind you. I’m not trying to say anything bad about men (I don’t think …
