As with most other RP concepts this is entirely situation dependent. Most women know feminism is bullshit but have no reason to speak out against it, this would differentiate them from the herd. If you show boldness and speak out against it they will admire you. In some professional circles, claiming to be a feminist will gain you influence, and immunity from "being a fucking white male".

Pre-selection at its finest.

Sure I agree that it's good to break these deadines down into more small marker deadlines. Was just suggesting that shame has actually been proven to be a great motivator in the right doses.

My comment was an extrapolation of your post's thesis. Truly living in the grey area involves sometimes seeing things as binary if the situation calls for it. The true in between involves being able to mindfully oscillate between seeing the world as continuous and discrete.

being a white guy in China is seen very negatively. What, really? I have very little experience with this but I typically get a lot of overt attention from Chinese girls. I go to an American university primarily made up of FOB Asians. Possibly a huge selection bias though since they are the ones that have decided to come to America.

The following law applies here - Law 38: Think as you like, but behave like others HR departments are typically made up of icky woman beast hybrids that want to take out their internalized self-hate on you. Best to simply bribe them with doughnuts, and publicly agree with them as much as possible without talking too much about yourself.

This is an incredible dissection of the book and highlights a lot of the main issues I have with Gladwell's writings.

Eh you're trading obesity for neurotic LTR partners. There's no such thing as greener pastures anymore because of rampant globalism. /u/NeoreactionSafe is right, you probably get an "exoticism" bump to your attractiveness. This is not unique to China.

Agreed - a week is barely enough to get past the carb withdrawals and start feeling the benefits of becoming fat adapted. The weight dropped is likely just water weight from ceasing to eat so much processed food.

This is only half correct. A deadline is only helpful insofar as it is accompanied with a reward and a consequence. For example, if I am designing a website for a client and it is due by June 30th, and I don't complete it by then, there are direct professional and financial ramifications for not meeting my deadline. If however I finish the website by the deadline, I earn money, and sweeten the business relationship with my client. Deadlines are weak motivators by themselves - use deadlines that …

The power of checklists is underrated in the arena of productivity. There is an entire cottage industry that has sprung up in tech dedicated to "GTD". I like your pen and paper approach and have found that this creates a stronger drive to complete tasks. I am partial to bullet journaling. I partially agree with your use of social pressure. As /u/whatsthisgarg mentioned, telling people about your goals actually diminishes your drive to complete them. Instead you should look into incentivizing you…
