Would still feel betrayed but it’d be understandable. Would be sad, and initiate break up as it seems best for both involved. I would prefer if he were upfront about his frustrations

Well what if all women have to offer in the first place is looks and fertility? Then it doesn’t matter :)

It’s equally a betrayal either way

You can trust when you realize that people have non sexual market place related motives. If you can’t trust them as a man/woman at least you can trust them as a human being. There comes a point in a relationship where two people love and like each other in a way that transcends sexual attraction, without excluding it. Perhaps one or both could do “better” but that’s not the point. They share something that can’t be quantified or replicated, and would never throw that away. Imo a good relationshi…

No one used to think of it this way. For most of history, men and women permanently joined their fates together at an early age through marriage. Only with an increasing number of men and women living separately for several decades of their early lives, do the sexes think of themselves as separate voting blocks with completely separate interests. This is not the reality. Everyone pretty much wants the same thing—to be happy, respected, and fulfilled in their relationships. Sure there is a supply…

Yes I care. I want someone who sees sex as a way to connect and express love, not a recreational activity. I want someone who can be faithful, make commitments, and practice self control. I don’t wanna be one in a long list of flings. Generally anything above 5/6 gives me pause. Context matters tho. 6 relationships is better than 3 random hookups.

There’s a difference between love being transactional and it being conditional. Non transactional love exists, many people sacrifice for those they love and receive little in return. Love is not just exploitation or exchange, it defies economic reasoning. Unconditional love does not exists. Even with the most giving partner, you still need to be yourself and be the person they fell in love with. You can’t just check out. Even if they aren’t getting a fair trade, the partner needs to be getting s…

Because being constantly taken care of harms you. A fed duck doesn’t know how to hunt for itself. A pet can’t survive in the wild. One of the best ways to subjugate someone is to make them dependent. Also work provides meaning for a lot of people. Not saying SAHMs are oppressed but it might feel oppressive if it was your only option

Good on you for finding a woman you’re compatible with and care about. But if you think so highly of her and her values, why would you be afraid to marry her? Why wouldn’t you want to give her assurance that you’ll stick around after her looks fade and she gave you your children and the most valuable years of her life? Honestly curious. I don’t know many young family minded women who don’t want marriage on some level. When she says she doesn’t want marriage, I doubt she is being honest Also the …

Just bring up how excited you are for it, and see if he matches your level of excitement.

Attraction and shared values are both important and I don’t think you can have a long term relationship without either. But you can be attracted to someone who is, say, objectively a 6/10 and have a fine marriage, but your marriage is gonna be hell if you only agree on 60% of important values-related things

Second this. My boyfriend really appreciates calf/foot massages after he comes back from a run.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
