I’ve only done it once and I didn’t enjoy it at all. It felt degrading and awkward and the idea of it had always repulsed me. Fortunately it never even came up in two years with my most recent ex (even though he was shitty in a variety of other ways). I’ve never enjoyed receiving oral sex either. It always felt extremely awkward and I never got much out of it. But I’ve only ever received it from that same ex, and it’s very possible he was just bad at it, so idk. As of now I don’t intend to give …

As if the act itself weren’t horrible enough, he topped it off with some intense gaslighting at the end. I’m glad she stood her ground, and I pray she leaves him.

My ex did this! When I asked him to do specific things he would tell me “I tried that once and you didn’t respond to it so I’m not going to try again” (whatever ‘respond’ means 🙄). He acted like he could read my mind by saying he paid careful attention to my reactions, but he never listened to my actual words. (Also, if he was so great at reading my mind like he claimed, why was the sex so terrible??)

Damn, I dated that guy too. Thank god that hell is over.

Fortunately my mom kept me away from him after that!

When I was a small child my uncle called me his “girlfriend” 🤢

Absolutely. I could have avoided so much pain if an older role model had candidly explained to me why older men (and predatory men in general) need to be avoided. When I was younger my parents apparently tried to “protect” me from this kind of thing by keeping me in the dark about it. So I wound up learning about it the hard way, and now I have to carry that trauma for the rest of my life. I understand that matters like this are very difficult to discuss with girls and young women, but it will s…

I think it’s unlikely I’ll marry a man. But if I did, I would only accept a platinum ring with a Tiffany setting. My fingers are thin so the stone could be around 1.5 ct. I’d only accept a man who made at least as much money as I will when I’m ready to marry, so he would certainly be able to afford it!

I told my shitty ex not to get me earrings for Christmas and…guess what he got me? (Months late, no less.) And guess who got all butthurt when I told him to return them? He actually never returned them even though I reminded him a couple of times, so in the end he never actually got me anything. smh at past me for not cutting and running then 🤦‍♀️

Absolutely this. I had a similar experience and the gaslighting was the worst. When I spoke about myself and it didn’t line up with my ex’s version of me, he would literally correct me. “No, you’re not like that. You’re like this.” And if it wasn’t something he could try to gaslight away, he would get very angry at me. He seriously got angry at me for being myself.

I had the same experience with my shitty ex. I’m not comfortable having sex on my period, and he complained and guilt tripped me over it. There’s just no winning with LVM!

I absolutely agree. It seems abusive. If men were empathetic, they would be horrified by what their orgasm can inflict upon women.

I didn’t make any assumptions about your personal intent, and I very much agree with the rest of your original comment. I just think we need to be careful about language, because the language we use affects the way we think.

Cowards like these aren’t masquerading as men; they are men. The “real mean don’t do x” rhetoric hurts women because it absolves men (as a class) of their actions. Real, actual men are the problem and do horrible things on a daily basis.

Wow, that is absolutely revolting 🤢 I am so sorry people like him exist.

Thanks for this post. Based on my (unfortunately) personal experience with a much older man, there is another type you want to look out for. This is the type that is serious and does want to settle down. He wants to trap a young woman in a marriage and likely a pregnancy as well (as if anyone wants that crusty old sperm). He speaks poorly of his exes and whines about how he never had children, or a happy marriage, or the success her deserved in his career because his exes were just so horrible t…

I think it’s straight up telling men not to pee in the shower, because apparently they need to be told.

Another possibility is Mormonism, which is also a horrible deal for women.

But men aren’t dogs. They’re human beings capable of intelligent thought. Men have the ability to overcome their hormones using their brains. They choose not to, however, and blame the hormones anyway as though it’s a legitimate excuse.

I am still traumatized by that scene, and I had my eyes closed through all of it. Had to quit watching after that.

I'm in this situation too and I have finally had enough. I'm working on extricating myself. It's difficult because of the pandemic but I will do it. You can do it too. Be strong, sister!

How could a surprise birthday party be more important that me? What I mean is, why did she go to such an extent and make me think she was cheating on me? This was chilling to read. I hope that woman is safe now.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
