Sincerely, good on you for having standards

It's sort of a self-perpetuating cycle. All the stories and advice are geared towards men. Then it's hard for women to figure out how to be romantic in a way that doesn't look too clingy or that the guy won't take as emasculating. Not that women shouldn't try—everyone should try to make their partner feel good—but there isn't a template to follow, which leads to a lack of confidence

Those people tend to believe that they did earn it all on their own and are completely blind to any advantages they had.

I knew a guy who didn't have a girlfriend until his mid-twenties or lose his virginity until his late 20s. He's good looking, taller than average (I know someone is wondering that), has a stable, middle-class job. Part of it is that we lived in an extremely conservative city and he isn't a conservative. It was both harder to meet women interested in pre-marital sex (yes, really, tons of women AND men who want to get married within a year) and harder for him to find a woman he genuinely connects …

Said x about what, though? I don't get the context of why anyone would care about their conversations. It sounds like they aren't even in the same location.

I feel like this is fake. A unnecessary, detailed list of who she's slept with, and nothing really about the husband or why she wants to reveal her daughters' paternity now after eight years.

I do! It may be more that I'm unattracted to tall men though. I tend to find them intimidating and feel like a child beside them because I'm pretty small. With guys closer to my size, I am more comfortable.

If guy I had rejected wanted to know why, I would feel incredibly uncomfortable. It sucks being rejected, but it is also really hard to turn someone down, and I wouldn't want to prolong it. I would also be suspicious that he was trying to argue with me. Ask a friend instead. A friend has more of an obligation to be honest with you if you ask and has a better understanding of your situation. If you don 't have any female friends and can work up the nerve, try asking a friend's gf for the female p…

Honestly, I think for most women (and possibly most men) stupidity is a lot more unattractive than intelligence is attractive. You have to be at a certain threshold of intelligence as a basic requirement. Beyond that threshold, intelligence yields diminishing returns in terms of attractiveness until it actually reaches negative returns because no one wants to date someone to whom they feel vastly inferior.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
