It's difficult to glean any meaningful insights here since clearly, both participants in the original conversation are mentally retarded.

I’m forty-one years old and have surrounded myself exclusively with white, skinny, attractive platonic female friends since late high school. Not a single male friend. This wasn’t necessarily my intention at the outset. Life just sort of worked out that way. The bottom line though is that this is not a path that I’d recommend. You really should avoid it if possible. If I had it to do over again, I would have made an effort to garner at least a few male friends. This particular state of affairs, …

Can't say I disagree. Not sure why your reply was downvoted so heavily.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't venture outside of my preferred ethnicity (white) and body type (thin) so I don't exactly have a huge breadth of experience. Didn't mean to offend anyone and I'm not trying to be a jerk-off. New to the Reddit scene and will try keep an open mind here... I guess this chick just scares the crap out of me and to see a video of someone hitting on her (even if it's fake)? Man... I was just taken aback is all.

I respectfully disagree with the former and as for the latter, I most certainly do NOT see myself as "hot shit." If I were hot shit, I certainly wouldn't be posting/reading on these forums as eagerly as I do right now. Just here to learn and interact a bit.

Interesting. I'm still in awe though. What kind of man pursues an unattractive female? No man at all. This was obviously a staged situation to illustrate a point, but to think that in the real world, there are women this ugly who feel anything other than sheer gratitude that any man would give them the time of day is just appalling to me. I'm the most pathetic example of a beta-orbiter that you'll ever meet and even I won't lift a finger for a woman who's less than an 8/10. If what you say is tr…

The girl in the video is grossly overweight. It's odd that such an unattractive woman would have such discriminating taste in men.

Interesting topic. When I was in my early twenties, I orbited a beautiful young actress/model who lived in my apartment complex. She was downright stunning (9.5/10). Of course, she was very dismissive of me and rarely responded to my pathetic attempts at communication with more than one or two words, if at all. It was discouraging but I tried to put it out of my mind and focus on my career. This went on for several years until one day... I bought a new Porsche 911. I parked it right next to her …

Interesting.. This may fall under the category of "show her, don't tell her" that I was reading about in one of the RP articles. I've gotta track down that article again. Good call.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Your candor is much appreciated. A few followups: As to the implication that "investment" is a poor analogy... I'm in the financial services business so I tend to look at relationships in economic terms. Just as every investment has a revenue stream and recurring expenses, every relationship has benefits and costs. If the benefits exceed costs, the relationship is "profitable" and should be maintained. If not, it's time to exit. That's the key reason I'm opposed t…
