Same here. That's why the construction firm I'm working for wants to train me to supervise. I'd potentially be responsible for the efficient production of multi-million dollar projects. Yeah dude. Bought my house when I was X. Make sure you keep an emergency fund. Some guys say 3 months of pay is satisfactory but I prefer 6. Budget for maintenance too. I would recommend finding some well behaved dudes to come live with ya. I had a guy live with me for a couple years. Only charged him 500 a month but I banked it and put a new roof on the place for just under 7000.

Excavator operator here. You try doing something for 12+ hours a day for the rest of your life and see how your 'intellect' stacks up against the rest of society. I barely have enough time to feed myself let alone train my mind. Sure you can calculate linear algebra.. But I can dig up a high pressure natural gas pipeline without striking it, and cut a perfect ditch slope for the sewer line out in your street. 300 bucks an hour and I'll supply my own machine.

I'm using mine for work right now. Make sure you tighten the electrical connections on the neutral bus bars frequently, the vibration of rolling down the road loosens the connection on the wire and causes the wire to heat up from having a bad connection. I'll give you more sage advice. Do not do what most of those meat heads do and buy a brand new lifted truck. Get yourself something reliable, say a 8 - 10 year old truck to carry your ass to site. Stack cash for a couple years, I had 50k saved up and dumped half of it down on a house when I was 21. By the time I'm 30 with the renters I have in it it'll be paid off and I can do what ever I want. Including sell it when I'm old and move to some inexpensive country and live off of the dividends.

On a pipeline right of way you're basically not allowed to drive anything bigger than a 3/4 ton truck over the pipe. It is very easy to disturb the integrity the facility believe it or not. I used to build oilfield road. We had to roll out massive rolls of geo-synthetics ontop of the clay road base prior to gravel. These rolls can weigh excess of 200 lbs. Thanks boys. Just wrapped up a job today until next year. We are in the process of remediating an old gas plant. They cut up everything with hydraulic shears and scrapped all the metal last year. My job was to locate and dig up any contamination and load it into 6x6 dump trucks. Now that the site is deemed clean we can focus on building the landfill.

I would just like to add something to this post: .22 rifles are lightweight, lethal, and quiet! Shot placement isnt often critical unless you're hunting game as the target could succumb to infection later. Its gruesome to talk like this, but its the truth.
