I'm 34 and most of the girls I've banged, in my life, have been between 19 and 26. It's because I have a very large social circle, dress well, and don't give a fuck. I think the college aged girls that turn you down solely based on your age are either anomalies, or you're having some bad luck. Also, it's easy to come off as a sleaze or desperate to these girls so you have to either own it or approach in a much more subtle manner.

Same here. I definitely think I'm 'above' it all. I maintain friendships with women but never chase skirts and have zero interest in being anyone's boyfriend or even fwb. I'd say I'm as aloof as it gets. I am a regular at several bars in my city, though, and my older, wiser friend described me best. I am what he calls an "ambush predator". Once a girl sits next to me and opens up the dialogue, the charm turns on.
