3	Legal Scholars Beginning to Question Civil Marriage The state should not define, regulate or characterize relationships among consenting adults. This is my view on marriage. 5	Single men and women should receive the same tax benefits and penalties as married couples. No one should be punished being asexual or uninterested in marriage. My thoughts exactly. Why is the gov't even involved in marriage? Why can you still claim an unemployed spouse as a dependent? It is now the norm for both spouses to be employed, so isn't claiming a dependent spouse kinda redundant with unemployment? 3	George Orwell: Why is it worse to kill a woman than a man? Breeding is only one side of the issue. It is worse because killing a young, healthy man is attacking the enemy's war machine, where the only practical effect of killing women at the time was to lower the enemy's political drive to fight, i.e. terrorism.
