My wife wasn't an addict, she was just cold and calculating and manipulative bordering on antisocial behavior. I think she fully knew what she was doing, and wasn't willing to change even when confronted with it. I set three conditions that she agreed to in order to know if she was actually going to change; she broke all three conditions within a week or two.

My wife wasn't even on meds (as far as I'm aware); this was just her personality.

I do have a multifaceted support network; friends, family, church, therapist, etc. It's certainly helped, but not having someone in my situation has felt somewhat isolating.

If that isn't some ass-backwards logic, I don't know what is.

I don't know exact details, but Utah also considers parental capabilities of both parents; they don't favor one parent over the other.

I'm not taking my anger out on anyone, I'm just stating facts. Our current system harms everyone, and we all need to work together to make everyone's lives better.

Men commit suicide far more than women. I don't remember the exact statistics, but it's a huge margin. We men have it a lot harder when it comes to being abused or depressed; we're blamed for the abuse we endure, we're told to suck it up because "you're a man, you shouldn't feel this way". A lot of us have nowhere to turn to and some choose the way out that makes you stop feeling, period.

I feel like that's been the message they've putting out for years now, decades even.

As a wise man once said, on a scale from 1 to 10 on craziness, no woman is below a four. (paraphrasing) https://youtu.be/R_USJCTIgs4?si=bkAceQeYkWUWHjP2

In my experience, either the problem really isn't a problem or it's somehow my fault and I'm playing the victim.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
