There’s definitely a double-standard here, and having seen this particular episode in question myself, the actual showing part was only 1-2 seconds long, and in a non-sexual, brief context. Conversely, female nudity is not only accepted, but pushed to longer and longer periods of runtime, inserted into sexual and non-sexual scenes alike, and are STILL criticized, but for reasons completely different than what Mr. Isaacs is currently facing.

I understand where you’re coming from, and as a full-blood Filipino guy, I have experienced a lot of what you mentioned and more. Culturally, Asian kids are supposed to be (and expected to be) way smarter than their peers, way more polite and respectful, way more mature, all while being able to play at least one instrument. 🤦‍♂️ That being said, I don’t think “God got bored and decided to make the most terrible combo of human”, I think it’s just that culturally American society developed to like…

I have repeatedly been burned by my own father about being too sensitive. Growing up, it went from disappointing him by being too emotional to - surprisingly - an even worse situation. The man started doubting my feelings. He started making unbelievable claims about “faking” emotional hurt or playing the victim for God knows what reasons. And then…I guess the split between he and I was when this “faking” thing spread from emotional pain to mental and physical pain. I have struggled with depressi…

I appreciate this post because I empathize with the feeling of being in the middle. I (26M) have and likely always will be a strong supporter of women. I think I could comfortably call myself a feminist for that back in high school and college, but lately it’s tough to wear the label. There’s too much hate, assumptions, generalizations, etc. A lot of the feminist stuff I started seeing got me out of those communities FAST. It might’ve even been part of the reason I started reading r/MensRights. …

No problem, and good luck with whatever lies ahead after all this stuff

Okay, so since you are asking honestly, I’m going to be straight up with only three things. Regardless of whether you are in the right or in the wrong about Jane’s accusation[s], recognize that you can only ever really control your own actions. This means everything from acting a little bit more careful around ratty coworkers to letting grudges go because I assure you that there will always be future situations that get on your nerves. You can choose to get those situations OFF your nerves and s…

Hey, I just want to say that you are wise for getting this off your chest. Dealing with that kind of self-doubt, resentment, and even worse possible thoughts and negativity can really tear you up. I’ll add briefly that I’ve been in a similar situation but I was accused of touching a family member for years and it was completely untrue. But I don’t want to get into it; the main focus here is that you had a terrible experience and you came to a great place for support. It’s tough going ‘his word v…

I’d like to say that I feel sorry because this woman you spoke to may have gone through seriously traumatic stuff, but in today’s day, I think more and more people are hating on men even if there isn’t much beginning to their arguments. Maybe she’s dealt with some history in this before. Or maybe she hasn’t and still has the same crazy attitude and opinion about it. There’s no telling why she thinks this way.

I (24y male) really wish that there was a better way to communicate both personal safety and accepting community between genders as part of the child upbringing process. I don’t mean for that to be an offensive sort of statement in any way, but I can already hear criticism to that sort of thinking. “Why should girls also have to be taught to respect men as they grow up? They’re already under the pressure to learn so many other important lessons! Maybe men should stop giving girls reasons not to …

This whole sex thing is a problem of communication between partners, male and female, and responsibility SHOULD be on both of them. It’s unfair that we are still portrayed as the ones “coercing” partners into “forced sex”, when most of the guys I’m friends with or people on this sub aren’t into straight-up forced rape.

Well sometimes those “stupid people” believe themselves to be smart enough to notice paying more for “the same product”!!! But no, even in that case it’s stupid people not realizing that they are different products like foam earplugs and silicone earplugs…

Sorry, I see how I worded that a little ambiguous. I meant “file a restraining order” as a response to the earlier comment, not that men are the only ones that have to file them. I fully understand women have to file those too

While this suggestion is completely valid, I think OP is pointing out the unfairness of having to do everything (including filing a restraining order) ourselves after a woman commits a crime towards a man while cops would usually be much more involved if roles were reversed.

Personally, I (a 24 year old male) am a huge advocate for ‘true feminism’. There are still numerous avenues for defending female rights. I make it clear to everyone I meet that I am all for supporting and empowering women. But most feminism in this country and this era? It’s aggressive and cold, often neglecting building up women and instead focusing on tearing down men. How can we defend and protect the rights of our counterpart gender when feminism is less about rights now and basically just s…

Reading this actually made me very upset at the women in my life. I showed all of them the same picture; they all agreed with the girl. After reading it over a couple times, some started to see the guy’s point, while some continued to support only the girl.
