There's several species of lizards that only have females. a simple "nah, bro" without any explanation infuriates a LVM like I've never seen before. Women have unlimited free swipes, men get like 10 or so every 24 hours or something before they have to pay to see more profiles. So you could legit swipe on, and match, 100+ dudes in a day if you wanted, while he's maybe got one match every few weeks. If he can't manage to message you first, he's not worth your time.
