This is the exact argument I brought up in a "Rape Prevention" seminar everyone was forced to go to my freshman year of college. You know, the ones that pretty much teach women to be afraid of men, and men ways to avoid raping their associates. One of the things they brought up was the inability to give consent thing, and it really irritated me. Sure, if someone's unintelligible, stumbling over themselves, half-conscious, of course they can't give consent; but these people were trying to say tha…

Anyone have any idea about the reasoning behind charging her with 2 counts of tampering with physical evidence? Is it saying she staged a crime scene to help her case? Or destroyed evidence that proved she was lying? Both?

Jesus. That's ridiculous. What if you were giving a counterargument on the 'hate' subreddit? The fear of dissent that these trigger-happy mods/subreddits have is appalling.

Yeah. And his mom, Hope's 40-something half-sister. She tried to pin it all on the boy. Fucking crazy shit.

I can see why they'd treat it that way. It's just so fucking disrespectful, like they're completely negating any value that person holds. I really don't understand how the fuck someone can do that shit and not expect to get banished to the shadow realm.

I don't think so. I think the law banning that sort of interaction involves people who hold some sort of authority over that particular individual. I think in some areas, charges can still be brought if the difference in age is over a certain amount of years, though, if the person is over the age of consent but still considered a minor (usually 16/17).

Pretty sure what you're referring to was actually a Republican cupcake sale that demonstrates how ridiculous affirmative action is. They're called Affirmative Action bake sales.

Let's put it this way, there exist some women whose appearances allign with our society's standards of beauty, leading them to be considered conventionally attractive. Conventionaly attractive women are appealing to a large percentage of the population. Now, some of those women are sexual predators. So, though you may not find these women attractive, the vast majority of the population would disagree with you. It's completely fine that you don't find them attractive. It's true that everyone has …

Interesting tactic. I must have missed that day in my Krav Maga class.

My SO worked for a DV shelter. While the men weren't housed in the shelter along with the women, they offered counseling to victims of all genders. They would also set male victims up at local hotels and shit until they could figure out something more permanent.

Sure, it would fall under the umbrella of sexual assault/violence, but it's not rape. With what your saying, you could equate any two things that happen to fall into a similar subset. Using your logic: A dog is a mammal, mammals are animals. Animals are living things. Cats are animals. Cats are mammals. Therefore, dogs are cats. The problem is that you're failing to realize that rape, legally, is defined as nonconsensual sexual intercourse that is usually the result of coercion, either physicall…

That's what I always end up doing. It seems to be the in-app browser that's dropping the ball. It's a shame since it works really well for other sites. I like to keep my phone on the light side, so it's a bit annoying to have to switch between multiple apps every other post. I guess it's time for me to check out some of the other reddit apps out there. I'm on Premium and the dev hasn't updated a damn thing since the beginning of December.

Thanks for the reply. I guess that most likely rules out a problem with BaconReader. Time for some troubleshooting.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else have problems viewing the sensitive media on twitter while using BaconReader?

I'm not talking law. I'm just remarking on the ethics. I never once talked about conviction rates or anything like that. What she described was date rape. End of story. Oh, and a sober male trying to mash his genitals into a semi-conscious, inebriated female/male/whartever would totally be date rape. Why would you assume otherwise?

She willfully engaged in sexual activity with someone who was blackout drunk because she thought he was really hot. She was sober. Had the roles been reversed, that's a clear cut case of date rape. If women can't give consent under the influence, neither can men. She raped that guy and presented the story as a vignette of female empowerment. Shitty person, through and through.

So, the defense is that she wasn't there to prey on little kids, but to commit suicide? This should go over well.
